"You didn't look too happy about being my secret friend though, I saw you turn away with (y/n) and the red-headed girl trying to stop you just now," Kagami says and Marinette's face dropped while Liesel and I crossed our arms at Marinette. "Actually I thought I'd gotten the place wrong and hadn't seen you yet and Liesel and (y/n) insisted we did. I'm really excited to play with you," She lies and I hum sarcastically. That's when our phones ping and we all check them to see a new message. "Congratulations you've located your game group and who knows? Maybe a new friend or two for life! You've received the second riddle," The message reads out and I read the riddle out loud.
"To get to your goal you must explore further and deeper," Kagami, Liesel, and I hum in thought when Mari jumps up exclaiming, "I know! We have to take the train at Gare du Nord station, leave Paris, and head straight to England." "I don't think so, it doesn't make to describe a new location as further because then anything goes, it has to be closer," Liesel says, and Kagami chimes in. "You're right, we have to go further down the banks of the Seine, which is deeper than this canal. We'll probably have to fish for our new clue. Come on, Marinette, (y/n), Liesel. Let's hurry up and win."
We nod and head out with her while Mari groans and I shoot her a warning look. A short walk later we were at the Pont des Arts bridge where we find a box filled with fishing gear. "You were right Kagami, we'll have to fish for it," Liesel says, grabbing one of the two fishing rods and starts fishing while Kagami gets Marinette to use the other rod. I help Liesel take the junk off her magnet while Kagami helps Marinette when Kagami suddenly asked, "Do you prefer to be called by your whole name or a nickname?" "By my...Whole name?" Marinette answers and I give my preference before Liesel does. "Liesel is fine, can't really shorten my name more than it was shortened from the original name." "What do you mean?" "Liesel is a German name, the original name is Lieselotte, and it was shortened to Liesel but with another E so my parents shortened the shortened part of the name," Liesel explained before Kagami thanked us for our answers and asked another question.
"What is your blood type?" "I don't know...Are you messing with us?" Mari asks, looking more than confused. "Not at all, everyone in Japan knows their blood type, it tells you who you are. Mine is O which means I'm independent, optimistic, strong-willed, and intuitive," Kagami explains and I chime in with, "Calm down Marinette, she's just trying to get to know us." "Yes, what's your favorite season?" Kagami then asks, and I answer with my favorite season (Summer, and early Fall). "Fall when it's nice and not too hot or cold out," Liesel also answers while Mari struggles with choosing a season as she explains why she likes each season.
"You're indecisive, scatter-brained, and irresponsible. You have a split personality typical AB," Kagami says with a smile and I snort because of how spot-on she was. The next question was a scenario-based question where we were asked what we'd do if we went to try a new chocolate flavor but somebody had gotten the last scoop. The choices were a bit extreme though, steal the cone, try another favorite that might not be as good, or never eat ice cream again. The three of us understandably chose the second option. Marinette places down a pot and slides it back. Confused I pick it up and look inside to see the clue. "Would you three like to get some orange juice with me?" "Suuuuure, it'd be a lot more fun than this boring treasure hunt-" Mari starts to say when I cut her off, stating, "Good job Marinette, you found the next clue. "Perfect, first we'll win then we'll go get orange juice to celebrate," Liesel suggests and we nod, getting back to the scavenger hunt where Marinette did everything in her power to slow us down but with Liesel, Kagami, and I working together it really didn't matter much.
"Trust challenge: Exchange unlocked phones, separate and take a selfie at different monuments using each other's phone. Then regroup and take a group photo like the true friends you've become, once we've received the selfies, we'll send you the final text to show you where Adrien Agreste is hiding," Kagami explained before the four of us exchanged phones. Marinette and Kagami switch and me and Liesel switch before running toward different monuments, agreeing to meet back here when done. (I could never, the only other person I trust with my phone is my dad)
I didn't get far before noticing Mari hiding behind a tree and I groan as I approach to see her looking through Kagami's phone! "What do you think you're doing?!" I shout at her with a glare and she shows me her phone with a frown. "She's got no messages besides from the contest," She then goes to contacts and we see her only contact is her mom. "She doesn't even have Adrien's number?" I mumble to myself sadly before shaking myself out of it. "Stop it, you're breaking her trust by snooping," I reach for the phone but she pulls away from me and enters an app. "Shoot! So this is what Kagami was looking at the whole time, it's an app to help her make friends. That explains everything." "Yeah, Kagami was just trying to be your friend and you wouldn't even give her a chance because she likes Adrien too, have you ever thought they were already dating or that Adrien likes her too?"
"No...I feel so bad...And she's got my phone! If she sneaks a peek she'll see the message I sent Alya!" "What message?" I ask annoyedly, taking Kagami's phone and she admits to sending a voice recording admitting she didn't want to win as long as she was with Kagami. I smack her upside the head and we run to find Kagami. We find her approaching, Liesel also running up as she hands me back my phone and I apologize. "Sorry, I didn't get the photo, had to deal with Marinette."
"I guess I'm not worthy of your friendship, our blood types must be too incompatible," She starts to walk away, and before we could give chase, her phone started to ring and in my startlement, I accidentally answer the call. "Kagami! Where are you?! You were supposed to be home!" Her mother's voice rings out and I answer. "Hello, Mrs. Surugi I'm not actually Kagami." "Who are you and why do you have her phone?! Where's my daughter?!" I rush up to Kagami and I explain to her mother. "Don't worry Kagami is safe, she's here with me, I'm her friend (y/n). "Kagami doesn't have any friends, why do you have her phone?!" "I can assure you ma'am I am a friend of Kagami's, we're even teamed up together for a game." "A game?! I forbade her from playing!" Shoot wrong thing to say.
"No not the Friendship Day game, a game on my phone, we're out getting orange juice with two other friends, she'll come back home soon I promise, I'll walk her back myself." "Stop fooling around young lady and put my daughter through, I can assure you she will not be enjoying any glasses of-" She goes silent, worrying me when I hear, "Yes Hawkmoth," Fudgesickles! I end the call and hand Kagami back her phone. "I'm sorry I tried to smooth things over but she might be angry and we need to go now," I grab her hand and run, Liesel and Mari joining us asking what's going on. I mouth Hawkmoth to Marinette when a giant red and black car, horse, and samurai land behind us. "Kagami, you disobeyed me! You will never go out again!" She yells, grabbing Kagami and swallows her. "Liesel run!" I shout and she takes off as I hide somewhere to transform.
