The Legend of Lady Dragon (Shanghai Special): Part 3

After running for a bit we hide behind a corner and let the thugs run past before running down in another direction. Mari and I try to transform but Fei grabs hold of us to keep running with her. "No, stick with me, these guys are dangerous." "Well, what are we supposed to do?" I ask when we run into a dead end and the thugs corner us. "Fei let us go get help," Mari pleads but Fei shakes her head. "The only one who can help us here is me, and the Kung Fu my father taught me" She gets into a fighting stance. Before they could fight however the three guys that were chasing us from earlier approached. "We the three proud vigilantes fight evil even when it strikes out of uh...More evil."

"Go home! You're gonna get hurt!" Fei yells at them. "We don't take orders from a thief!" "A thief?" Mari asks looking at Fei suspiciously before I could tell Marinette what they meant Fei interjected. "He doesn't know what he's talking about," The thugs turn their attention to the vigilantes and we take this opportunity to run past them into an alleyway while the vigilantes dealt with the thugs. Fei takes us to a burnt-down building that was left in shambles. "What is this place?" Marinette asks looking around. "It's where I live and where I have to be right now," Fei responds, looking at the moon before offering us both a small cup of tea. "It's all I have," Looking around I could see why she was stealing she didn't have much but at the same time instead of stealing to live she was stealing for revenge. "Fei it's time you start explaining things. First off why do we have to be here?" 

"I have to guard my father's legacy." "But isn't your father...?" Marinette starts to trail off. "Disappeared with the school. They did everything to make us leave from intimidation, burglary, and arson. They took everything from us including the bracelet he entrusted me with. The jewel I told you about is as precious to me as your jewels except this jewel had a power," Fei explains and Mari and I exchange confused looks before she asks who 'they' is. "Exactly, I don't know. I've been searching for their identities which is why we were brought together. Marinette, (y/n) the truth is-" She was cut off by Cash as he walked up to us with a chuckle. "You really thought you could get away from me Fei?" 'You know each other?" Marinette asks and I facepalm while Cash laughs. "Of course we do. How do you think I ended up with your earrings and gloves in the first place? She stole them from you and then STOLE THEM FROM ME!" Mari drops her tea cup and stares at Fei shock. 

"It can't be true." "It is Marinette, think about it after we bumped into her earlier we lost our stuff then we find her and she claims to know a place without letting us call your uncle, had all those costumes, and was willing to let us pay for our stuff back before changing her mind. Cash even said she was the one who stole them in the shop. She even got defensive when those guys called her out," I point out and Fei looks at me. "You knew?" "Yeah, but we were too busy getting chased to bring it up."

"I was going to tell you I swear-" "You saw how desperate we were to get our stuff back and knew how much I was willing to pay the price for them," Mari begins to tear up and Fei apologizes. 'I'm sorry but he told me he knew someone who knew who burnt down my father's school but expected me to pay a huge price for it." "Truth isn't free, no pain no gain. You're going to call your uncle right now and ask for the money I'm owed." "No way! We didn't want these sold and they were stolen you have no right to make us pay for our belongings we didn't want to sell!" I yell at him when Fei pushes the phone out of Cash's grip. "I won't let you do this. You two stay behind me."

"I want my MONEY!" Cash yelled and Fei shakes her head. "And I want you to tell me the truth once and for all!" "You want the truth? If they don't call her uncle you'll meet the same fate as your father!" She kicks Cash against a wall, warning him not to bring her dad into this when Marinette tugs on my arm. I follow her line of sight to see an akuma flying straight for Cash. Why was Hawkmoth here?! We go to run away when Fei grabs our wrists. "Marinette, (y/n), you have to stay I'm the only one who can protect you." "By stealing from us? By lying?" "You have to trust me!" "We can't!" "I get it, I shouldn't have stolen from you, please forgive me." "Regardless it's not safe to stay here whether you can protect us or not!" I argue and Marinette chimes in. "You've gotta do what you've gotta do and so do we," We take off for a place to transform.

"Do you think Fei is being sincere?" Tikki asks and we shrug. "We don't have the time to figure that out," With that, we transform and Ladybug had a voice message, Chat's voice soon ringing out. "M'lady a French girl we both know Marinette Dupain-Cheng has gone missing in Shanghai with her friend (y/n) (l/n). I'm already here looking but I can't do it alone I need your help, and I can't get ahold of (s/n)," LB smiles down at her yoyo while listening to the message. "Aww sweet kitty," I smile myself, he was always looking out for us. She proceeds to call him.

"I've just arrived in Shanghai with (s/n) have you found them?" "Not yet but with you two here I'm sure we will." "FYI Marinette and (y/n) aren't the only ones here I just saw an akuma. I'm sending you the address," With that, we head back to the school to find Fei dangling in a well trying to get out. "Grab on!" Ladybug instructs, lowering her yoyo. "Thanks. I'm Fei. Are you two the good guys?" "Yep, Ladybug and (s/n). Where's the villain?" We head into the cave to find an akumatized Cash and Hawkmoth in front of a wall with a beam of light moving toward the center. Once it reaches the center a part of the wall moves out of the way and something in its place glows green. "I've been waiting for this moment for fifteen years," Hawkmoth states, putting a bracelet into the glowing hole. "That's my bracelet!" "Is there anything special about it?" "I dunno I was just supposed to protect the cave and the bracelet and failed," The glowing light begins to brighten as something begins to materialize.

It looked like a humanoid navy blue lion statue with black armor and golden markings with a cyan sphere at the top of its head, cyan eyes to match, and a golden orb with designs carved in it in its hands. What was that thing? "Human. Prepare to face the judgment of Mei Shi the lion protector of the prodigious," It bellows before stepping aside. "The prodigious? Do you know what that is?" Fei asks and we both shake our heads. "No. But if Hawkmoth wants it we've gotta stop him from getting it. Stay put," Ladybug says as Hawkmoth enters the path Mei Shi blocked and emerged with the prodigious.

"Put the prodigious around your neck human and prepare to face my judgment." "Who told you I had any intention of facing you? King Cash time to honor the deal. Turn him into a gold statue." "You can't do that!" Mei Shi argues just as LB's yoyo flies out and ties Hawkmoth by his legs lifting him into the air and causing him to drop the prodigious. I pick up the prodigious and look it over it was a circular medallion pendant that had red scales and a golden outline. There were eight symbols on it surrounding the one in the middle, each one a different symbol. Suddenly Fei is next to me and takes the prodigious claiming, "I'm taking over my father's mission!" "We told you to stay put," I argue when King Cash attacks throwing golden blades at us from his fan making us jump out of the way and let Hawkmoth go. King Cash follows us and goes for a close-up attack, our weapons clashing as we kept trying to hit each other while dodging his attacks.

Fei puts on the prodigious and palms her fist and in an instant she's in a dragon-themed red and golden suit with long red hair held in a ponytail. "Now what?" She asks and Ladybug and I exchanged looks. Was she talking to herself? "Who are you talking to?" LB calls to her while dodging more golden blades.
