"Congratulations on winning, Adrien," I congratulate Adrien on winning the contest for Style Queen's fashion magazine as we head into the building, my gaze quickly turning behind me to look at (y/n) and smile to see that beautiful bright smile of hers as she joked with Marinette, catching Adrien's attention and he looks back at the two with a smile as well. "You really miss her huh? Have you talked with her about wanting to get back together?" Adrien asks and I shake my head. "No, she's convinced a relationship with me will only hurt me. She doesn't realize that no matter what happens she's why I smile every day." "Then push for it. It's clear to everyone that you two were very happy with each other and a cute couple so why not fight for her to be yours? Show her that no matter what you're ok."

He suggests and I mull it over and thank him for the advice as we head into the elevator and we watch Alya try to push Marinette into the elevator next to Adrien with her pushing back until the doors close. I roll my eyes in amusement at her as we head into the party room and wait for the show to start. When it did though, things instantly started to go downhill as the host Alec started insulting Audrey to the point she was re-akumatized and everyone went into a panic. From the corner of my eye, I see (y/n) heading for the elevators and I follow her, entering it before the doors could close.

"Luka! W-what are you doing here?" She stutters out, surprised to see me and I suppress a smirk as I answer her. "Trying to get out, isn't that what you're doing?" "Yeah...Don't wanna stick around for the fight," We barely go a floor down when the elevator suddenly stops with a shake. (y/n) starts pressing buttons, soon frowning as she informed me the elevator wasn't responding, so we tried to pull the doors open with no luck so I reassured her that everything would be ok before she started texting someone.

I lean my head against the wall and take a deep breath, trying to think of a way to get out when I faintly hear something in the vents and the hairs on the back of my neck stand. "Stopping texting for a minute," I say, earning me a confused look so I pull her close to me and cover her mouth when she starts asking questions, soon pointing at the wall and she listens and hears what I hear: sounds like some people were trying to escape through the air ducts when there's a scream as a fast whooshing noise flies by. We both wait with bated breath for the noise to disappear. Once it does I let her go with a sigh stating "It seems Style Queen's on the hunt for everybody so if we don't make too much noise we'll be safe."

She nods and starts texting again, a heavy air filling the room that I couldn't stand so I break the silence. "So is this the secret hiding spot?" I ask with an amused smile, earning me another confused look as she asks "What?" "Whenever there's an akuma attack you and Marinette disappear. Is this the fabled hiding spot you run to?" I explain and she turns away with a nervous chuckle. "Ah. Something like that..."

"You're still not gonna tell me," I state with a frown as she nods, giving me her usual answer. "I can't," I recall Adrien's words from earlier and push the subject a little more. "Why not? What is so important that you have to worry everyone around you and not tell them what's going on?" "I-" "Can't. Yeah, I've heard that so many times but can't get a reason further than that, it's getting old (y/n)," I cross my arms in frustration as she tells me "I know, I'm getting tired of telling you the same thing and I'm sorry Luka but I have certain responsibilities that requires a lot of secrecy and if I let something slip I'll lose everything because I'm too far in it now!"

Too far into what though? What were these responsibilities and why can't someone else take them? I can't help but think as we go quiet since (y/n) had yelled. "That's not true. You'll have me," I argue once I deem it safe to talk again, taking her hand in mine and squeezing it reassuringly before she pulls away, shaking her head. "Not when these responsibilities keep hurting you. I can't keep doing that to you either." "Then when will you be relieved of these responsibilities? I want to be with you (y/n). I miss you. I miss us!" "I don't know I wish I could say soon but I genuinely don't know, I might never be relieved of them..." "That's not fair! Why should you or anyone else have to suffer and not be able to have what they want? I want to get back together with you mon amour and I know you do too. Whatever it is that's holding you back, we'll get through together so please!" "I can't-" "Yes you can!"

We continue to argue back and forth about this, this time not realizing we are getting louder when Rena Rouge steps in through a portal claiming she's gonna take us to safety when Style Queen enters the elevator with a nasty smirk. "If you were trying to hide maybe you shouldn't have been shouting," Instincts kick and I push the two out of the portal before trying to tackle Style Queen resulting in me turning into glitter.

For the umpteenth time, I come back with a gasp, confused about what was going on, relief washing over me as I spot the miraculous ladybugs doing their job. I find everyone safe and the event goes on as planned. Later that day I called (y/n). "Hey, Luka..." "Hey (y/n), I wanted to apologize for pushing you in the elevator earlier, it wasn't fair of me. But what I said still stands and I do want to be with you. I don't know what you think will hurt me if we're together but please trust me when I say that no matter what's happened I'm ok and I still wanna be with you, I know you'd rather I move on but I can't and I refuse to, you're too amazing of a girl," I can just hear her smile as she slightly chuckles. "You're not gonna let this go are you?" "Nope." "Ok. I promise I'll do everything I can so we can be together again but for now, you're going to have to wait. Oh, and Luka thank you for still choosing me even though I'm being and have been so difficult." "Of course (y/n), good night," The call ends and I flop onto my bed, one step closer, one step closer till we can get back together.
