Author: Quick note for this I'm going to refer to the alternate (s/n) as Dark (s/n) to make it easier to write but you have full control of her name. Also, no the entire special is not fully written, I'm just publishing the chapters as they're finished, like every other episode there will be four parts.

"Hello and welcome. If you're tuning in now, today's main event of course is the new attack of Shadowmoth on Paris. Thankfully Ladybug, Chat Noir, and (s/n) have saved Paris yet again," Nadja's voice rings out as Betterfly and Alya watch the alternate universe broadcast.

"Is it ready? Can we make the jump?" Betterfly asks, turning his attention to Maxkov.

"There's a 92.7% statistical chance of landing in a world where these source images originated."

Red lights begin to flash as the intruder alarm goes off. Betterfly and Alya turn around to see Nino rushing over holding a weapon as he panted for breath.

"I'm sorry, I can't stop them! They're coming!"

The ceiling began to quake as their enemies drew closer.

"We don't have a choice. Do it now!" Alya encourages Betterfly who nods, giving her a Kamiko.

"Ubiquity, I am Betterfly. I give you the power to connect to the parallel world we have located so we can find help. With this gift, I'm exposing you to many perils and placing a great burden on your shoulders. Do you accept it for the greater good?"

Ubiquity agrees, accepting the power as she transforms when the long glass cylinder shatters from a cataclysm as the three enemies land on the bridge, glaring at Betterfly and his allies.

Adrien sits alone in his room, the news playing on mute with subtitles on his TV. He had to keep track of any new akumatized people just like Ladybug and (s/n) were doing but his mind was in a different place. His gaze shifts to his tightly clutched hand, recalling for the billionth time how he cataclysmed someone. Not a machine this time, a real living, breathing person who was only saved from instant death because he was transformed through a miraculous. Even then he still did some major damage and what if Monarch dies because of the cataclysm anyway? They knew so little about the miraculous, it didn't help the guardians were hesitant to experiment with the miraculous's abilities. Then again with his superpower, Adrien didn't blame them after learning his could cause death.

"This power is starting to feel so heavy Plagg and I feel like I'm beginning to lose control."

"I feel the same every time I see a slice of Saint-Nectaire. It fades away eventually," Plagg tries to reassure him as he eats his cheese.

"But what if it doesn't? What if using Cataclysm on Monarch makes it easier for me to do to others? What if I lose my humanity over this? What if...I end up destroying everything around me without meaning to?"

Plagg gives Adrien a pitying look, he knew it would've been a matter of time before Adrien had felt how heavy being the wielder of destruction could be. Regardless he still reassures him.

"You won't lose your humanity. The fact you feel guilty about what you did to Monarch a garage human being proves it. You know...Sometimes, destroying is the best path to build anew. Trust me. It works for me more often than not."
