Rocketear: Part 2

"Hey since we got out early today, what do you say about catching a movie?" Nino suggests to Alya once we get down the steps.

"Uh...I'm not so sure..." She starts to say when I push her toward him.

"Go on, have some fun, we can hang out later."

She excitedly grabs Nino's hand and runs off with a wide grin. Unbeknownst to us though she wouldn't be having much fun as she'd constantly worry about being summoned away due to an akuma attack. Sadly come sunset we did have to interrupt Alya's date to watch our back while we dealt with the latest akuma victim. Later that night I was finishing up my homework before going to bed when Alya called me.

"Girl you will not believe what just happened."

"Oh really? What happened?"

"Chat Noir just paid me a visit with the craziest idea I've ever heard in my life."

"What do you mean?"

"He came to my balcony and said that he wanted to make sure I hadn't developed romantic feelings for him while covering him for the Ladyblog and working with him as Rena Rouge."

"Pffft- What?! Where did that come from?" I ask, trying to hold in my laughter from the absurdity of what I just heard.

"I don't know but I had to laugh too, I asked him if he was insane, and reminded him I have a boyfriend."

"Yeah that's weird, he doesn't act that way normally," I mutter, I'll have to talk with Adrien tomorrow and see what was going through his head.

Tomorrow I wait for Adrien to arrive and pull him to the side where no one can hear us. 

"So I got a call from Alya last night saying Chat Noir paid her a visit asking if she fell in love with him despite the fact she's happily dating your best friend."

"Yeah I know it sounds ridiculous and I didn't actually think she fell in love with Chat Noir but I was checking for Nino."

I squint my face in confusion. "What?"

"Yeah. Sometime after his date with her last night, he called me claiming that he thinks she fell in love with another man: Chat Noir." 

"Where'd that idea come from?" 

"She was supposedly acting weird during the date. Also the Ladyblog, she uploaded footage of some of my stunts and he tried to use that in an argument. He also talked about the upcoming Miraculous 2 movie and apparently, one of the arcs the trailer showcased was a love story between Chat Noir and Rena Rouge. So just to be on the safe side I asked her and so I could let her down now if she somehow had fallen for me."

I start laughing loudly and I joke "What? They didn't think I'd make a good match for you?"

"I think Vyperion would have some choice words about that pairing," He jokes with me as we head inside soon coming to a stop when we notice bubbles floating around.

Around the corner was Nino blowing bubbles.

"Hey Nino, I gotta tell you something."

"No, I gotta tell you something," He dragged us both down to the basement where he had a small detective's office set up and he offered us a seat.

"When did you set all this up?" I ask, looking around when he slams his hand on the desk.

"I'm the one asking questions. Adrien remember when I told you yesterday? I've got proof now. Clear-cut evidence that Alya is in love with Chat Noir," He states, shoving his phone in our faces and a video plays showing Chat and Alya talking but you can't hear what exactly was being said between the two.

Adrien turns off the radio playing Jazz music. "Come on this doesn't make any sense, nothing romantic happened," He argues and Nino turns the radio back on.

"How do you know? Were you there? Are you in on it too?"

"What?! No! Of course not! I'm sure this is just a misunderstanding. Alya and Chat Noir have nothing in common, they barely know each other," Adrien argues again and I nod my head in agreement.

"Adrien is right. Alya is just a huge superhero fan, she was like that when we met her which is why she's been filming Ladybug, Chat Noir, and (s/n) for years now," I say, turning the radio off again.

"They know each other well enough."

"But nobody knows their secret identities. Can you seriously imagine Alya falling in love with someone she doesn't really know? The girl who wants to be a reporter and wants to know the truth no matter what? The one who shares everything with the boy she loves," I argue with Nino and he closes his eyes in thought as he turns the radio on again.

"They know each other much better than you think."

"You can't assume that from this video."

"Listen you two I'm gonna share something super secret with you two. You can't tell anyone but I'm not talking about the video. Alya's a superhero she's Rena Rouge," He admits and our eyes go wide in shock as we both ask in unison:

"What?"

Did he seriously just out Alya? Is he gonna out himself too? Luckily for him, it was me and Adrien since we already knew but still what the heck Nino?! I thought as he proceeded to reveal he was Carapace.

"But the two of you know? The two of you know each other's secret identities?" Adrien asks, standing up and grabbing Nino's shoulders while I bite my bottom lip in worry. 

I should've known Ladybug didn't tell him, then again if she could've helped it she probably wouldn't have told me either.

"Of course, we never hide anything from each other. Until now with all this Chat Noir business."

"I don't understand, I thought that secret identities had to be protected at all costs. If that were true you'd never just tell us like that."

"Are you kidding? Ladybug was the one who outed us to each other by bringing us the miraculous at the same time."

Adrien's face drops and I figure a million things are going through his head right now so I decide to speak up again.

"Ok, ok. So you're Carapace and she's Rena Rouge and Ladybug is ok with this but it still isn't like Alya or Chat Noir to cheat."

"You don't know how he really is but I do. I'm part of the team. Sure it started with him going after Ladybug but she kept rejecting him because she found him obnoxious and she's right he is obnoxious and then when Rena Rouge shows up and pays a bit of attention to him it's 'Why hello there pretty lady, you look so fine'. So yeah! After being rejected so many times he makes his move on the next lady he finds attractive. Now I'm all alone and lost the love of my life. I wish I could sew his mouth shut with his sweet-talking whiskers!" Nino angrily shouts, tears falling onto his phone screen while Adrien and I exchange confused and worried looks
