Mari rushes into the bakery with her crate of apples apologizing to her mom about us being late because we ran into some friends, soon tripping over some apples that fell out. I wince as I watch her tumble down with the apples and drags someone down with her, quickly apologizing. "It's totally ok but I should be asking if you're okay, that was quite a fall," I hear a very familiar voice and I look the person up and down realizing it was Zoé! "Don't worry about me, I'll be fine. I'm pretty clumsy so I'm used to it, I fall a lot like on my face, fall asleep, fall out of bed, and fall apart at the seams."
Mari kept going not recognizing Zoé which was understandable we hadn't seen her since we visited New York. Placing my cart of apples I finally address Zoé with a warm smile and a hug. "Zoé it's so good to see you! What are you doing here in Paris?" "Wait Zoé? As in Zoé from New York?" Mari asks and she nods with a chuckle. "I was wondering how long it'd take for you to recognize me."
"Well, can you blame me? It's been forever since I last saw you. Mom, can you put together a dozen more croissants for Zoé, please?" Sabine gets to it and Zoé answers my questions. "As for me being in Paris, I wanted to be with my family and I missed my friends here," Her eyes quickly darted to me before focusing on the new bag of croissants being handed to her. "That's amazing, everyone's gonna be happy to see you including Chloé. She's grown a lot since the last time you saw her," Marinette says, grabbing a few more treats for Zoé.
"If you're not doing anything with your family tonight my friends are performing a concert on the river barge, everyone will be there including your sister if you guys aren't doing anything," I tell her and she smiles. "Sounds fun just text me the deets." "Sure thing but first you'll need my number," We exchange numbers before she heads out.
"Everyone will be so excited to see her," Mari exclaims and I nod soon pointing at the clock. "Yeah, we can tell them when we get to school, go grab your bag so we can head out," We head to school and start telling everyone Zoé had moved to Paris when they arrive and Chloé gets everyone's attention and proclaims her sister would be attending school with us.
It didn't take long for everyone to welcome Zoé and catch up with her when their mother Audrey walks in and gives us a judgmental glare. "Zoé please tell me you aren't friends with these commoners?" "Actually Mom-" Chloé tried to correct her before the glare was sent her way. "What was that Clarrisa- Chloé?" "N-Nothing Mom they're just enamored by our family's elegance. Right, Zoé?" Chloé stutters, looking between her mom and sister nervously. Zoé gives a sheepish smile as she mumbles an agreement before dragging her mom to meet with the principal and we all exchange confused looks.
