Mr. Pigeon 72: Part 1

"Sure it's amazing being Ladybug, I've got these powers, awesome kwamiis. Could you imagine if I could stop Shadowmoth from creating villains in the first place? He'd be ruined!" Marinette rambles as she continues the concoction we'd been working on since the three-day weekend started. Marinette and I had been trying to use the notes in the grimoire to create a potion or something that could prevent akumatization which would force Shadowmoth to come out of hiding and we could take back the butterfly and peacock miraculous then.

"Have you noticed that Shadowmoth re-akumatizes people much more often these days? We figure it's because he's had time over the years to get to know his victims and learns how to manipulate them better," I point out, gesturing toward our giant board filled with everybody who's been akumatized and how many times they were along with notes strewn about everywhere. 

"You're right, I was akumatized four times because I was obsessed with learning everybody's secrets from Ladybug's to yours. It drove me crazy," Alya says looking around. "You know we had to keep it a secret." "I know but now that I know the truth, I've got your back. What?! Mr. Pigeon has already been akumatized 71 times?" Alya asks astounded and we nod.

"He's just a man trying to look out for his pigeons and I feel bad. I promised him I'd find a way to keep him safe from Shadowmoth but (y/n), Chat, and I just can't figure it out," Mari then lets out a groan as she grumbles about not understanding the spellbook and Wayzz tries to reassure her. "Master Fu didn't really understand the spellbook either but he was able to do it with proper time and rest." "I think I got it," I exclaim grabbing an ingredient and sprinkling it into the cauldron causing it to explode again.

"Dang it, I was sure that spicy little rock would work," I grumble while cleaning up the mess, Marinette starting up the concoction again. "Ladies, how long have you been working on this?" Alya asked as she helped me clean up. "I dunno, I think we started sometime after the breakup but now that we have this long weekend we finally have time to put our whole hearts into it." "When was the last time you worked on one of your own designs or uploaded a song?"

"I actually went on a break from my music to move on from the breakup. It also gives me time to focus on this," I explain, choosing to leave out the detail that this was a great distraction from my break up as well. "I do loads of designing. Look, with this security system no one can enter my room when (y/n) and I am not in it. Also when I put on this hat I can hear everything that's going on in here even when I'm out of the room."

Marinette explains putting on a ridiculous hat, causing Alya to yell at us about how all of this was insane. "Trust me when I'm researching something obsessively and I can't think of anything else, that's when my mind can get really blocked. You both need a break!" "No way! No breaks until I can figure out a way to prevent Shadowmoth from re-akumatizing people!" Marinette objects, throwing some rosemary into the cauldron causing another explosion. It truly was a miracle that Tom and Sabine hadn't come rushing up yet.

"Look I get it, you want to see the end of Shadowmoth but it's like my grandma says: Life is not waiting for the storm to pass, it's learning to dance in the rain," Alya tried again but that also didn't convince us to take a break. "Dance? Alya, we don't have time to dance when Shadowmoth is attacking the people we care about," I tell her while we start up the process again.

"I bet you had no idea Adrien and Kagami broke up," This catches Mari's attention as her head whips toward Alya and she asks "What?!" "Yeah, what about it?" I add in when Mari looks at me shocked. "You knew?!" "Yeah, it happened around the same time Luka and I broke up so he wanted to let me know he was there for me and I told him the same goes for him." "Come on we have to go and console Kagami!" "Don't you mean Adrien?" "Why would we console Adrien?"

"Well for you it was the house and three kids with a hamster named whatever. That ring a bell?" "I told you I have no more feelings for Adrien and besides even if I still did I've proven I'll go off my rockers to be with him which isn't good for anyone. Meanwhile, Kagami is perfect for him. The poor girl must be so upset," I start to tell her that Kagami was the one who ended the relationship but Alya spoke up first. "This is a joke, right? Or maybe spending so much time in your room surrounded by magic fumes has gone to your head?" "Alya, (y/n) and I are Kagami's only friends here in Paris, we have to console her." "Fine go console Kagami just as long as you two are out of the house and thinking about something else. Meanwhile, I'll go through all these notes and see if I can make any sense out of it."

"You'd do that?" "Of course Marinette, (y/n)'s not the only one in your corner anymore," Mari pulls her in for a hug before she runs to take off when I grab her wrist. "You're forgetting something," She looks down to see she was still transformed as Ladybug. De-transforming she tries to leave again before I stop her again.

"Still forgetting something." "Right! The pool bag!" I shake my head and she looks down seeing the other problem: still in her pjs. After she gets dressed we head out and let Marinette's parents know we were taking a break, grab some baked goods, and head out.

Mari calls Kagami to get her location and I can just barely hear on the other end "Now's not a good time." "We'll always be there for you Kagami," We get to the gardens Kagami is practicing in and Mari pulls Kagami in for a hug, passing the basket of baked goods to her mother. "Mother you remember Marinette and (y/n)?" "Yes. You're very...Unique friends." "We'll bring your daughter back in an hour!"

We leave the grounds and Kagami turns to me with a confused look. "What's this all about?" "Marinette learned about your breakup and in true Marinette fashion wants to fix the problem," I explain before jokingly asking her, "You wouldn't happen to want to get back with Adrien would you?" She shakes her head before tuning into Mari who was talking about how Adrien was currently at the pool. "You know Adrien's schedule by heart?" "Yeah...I know creepy but I promise I'm not in love with him anymore just some of his events I'm reminded of randomly. Today is one of those days which is perfect for us so you and Adrien can make up and get back together."

Kagami steps in front of Marinette's path and blocks her stating, "I don't want to get back together with him. I was the one who broke up with him because-" "Of course you did. You felt that somehow you weren't worthy enough for him but I can prove to you that you are. You two are meant for each other," She starts rambling on about how when they see each other again all doubt will wash away, and whatnot. Kagami couldn't get a word in so I called Marinette, making her pick up the phone before handing it to Kagami who promptly told her "Marinette I don't want to be with Adrien anymore, he let me down." I sigh in annoyance as Mari starts dragging us both to the pool claiming she'll fix everything.
