Kuro Neko: Part 4

Meeting back with Ladybug and Catwalker I found that she was breaking the news that for her plan to work, she couldn't do it with him. 

"I'm sorry Catwalker, I tried everything to include you in the plan but the Lucky Charm doesn't work with you. Using your cataclysm would only work if you were Chat Noir so I had to devise a plan that doesn't include you."

"That's what I figured as well."

"You're not upset? You're not sad, or feel left out or useless?" She asks worriedly and he squeezes her shoulder reassuringly.

"No. The mission comes first. I won't make another move. Good luck Ladybug, (s/n)," Catwalker says, taking a step back.

"Ok, we need to lead the cat to the stadium," LB tells me and I nod before we jump down and begin leading the sentimonster to the stadium.

"Excuse me. I need you to put all the freshly mowed grass into here, please," Ladybug tells the worker when we arrive.

He complies before running away when the sentimonster jumps into the stadium. Ladybug grabbed the parachute, tying it together as we stood before the upset cat.

"Come on you big kitty! Spit up that hairball!" LB shouts, tossing the grass ball into its mouth, causing it to cough. 

It hacks up the grass ball the little girl inside tumbling out.

"Go deal with her, I've got this guy covered," I tell her before turning my attention to the cat. "ICE STORM!" I used my ice powers to keep it from doing too much damage and to keep its attention away from Ladybug and the little girl while they talked.

From the bits and pieces I hear it sounded like the little girl was saving up for cat toys when her cat ran away and Shadowmoth gave her this sentimonster as a replacement.

"You know I lost my kitty cat too. I miss him more than even I initially released. We'll be able to get your kitty back but first I need to break your piggy bank long enough for the big cat to stop being naughty and my magical ladybugs will fix it."

I hear glass shattering and the cat disappears. I approach with a smirk when Catwalker appears with the little girl's cat. After everything is fixed Catwalker and Ladybug compliment each other in unison.

"You were perfect."

"Does that mean I was terrible? How insulting, here I thought I was a pro," I tease the two, earning a chuckle as Catwalker bowed to me.

"You were perfect as well (s/n)."

"Catwalker you were perfect but unfortunately I'm going to ask for you to hand back the miraculous. Working with you made me realize how much I miss Chat Noir and how I can't do this without him. I won't do this without him so I'm going to do what I can to get him back."

"I understand Ladybug, I'll give the ring back to (s/n). It was an honor to meet you Ladybug, (s/n). Chat Noir is a very lucky guy," Catwalker said with an earnest smile before taking off.

"I leave you to deal with this one and her little cutie," I tell LB, scratching behind the kitten's ears for a moment before taking off after Adrien.

Back in his room, Adrien smirks at Plagg. "Your great plan didn't really work out Plagg."

"Are you kidding? It worked better than if it had actually worked! So long serious cat, welcome back super cool cat." (Plagg thinks Chat Noir is cool confirmed lol)

"After hearing all that does that mean you're gonna come back as Chat Noir? You heard how much Bug-a-boo misses her kitty cat," I say with a teasing grin.

"I want to but what if I can't do it? Become the old Chat Noir?"

"Don't worry about that. Just be yourself and he'll be back with two shakes of a cat's tail," Plagg reassures him.

"But does that mean that Chat Noir is who I really am? Deep down inside?"

"You're not Chat Noir. But you're not Adrien either. You're both, the perfect son who's extremely successful in what he does but you're also Chat Noir who just wants to enjoy life and have fun. One can't exist without the other. I'm glad to have both of you back," Plagg says and I nod in agreement.

"Plagg's right. It's not one or the other, you're a mixture of both that created the respectable, kind, caring, funny, and rebellious man before me. The man Ladybug wants to work with and him alone," I squeeze his shoulder reassuringly before I go to leave. Stopping to tell him one more thing. "Oh and the next time you're feeling left out just let me know, hit me upside the head if you need to. I promised you, you wouldn't feel useless and the only way I can do that is if I know when you feel like you aren't."

At our next patrol, Chat Noir apologizes for causing so much trouble.

"Don't apologize, you're not the one in the wrong. I didn't know being able to do all this meant so much to you. But just so you know just because I don't need you all the time doesn't mean I don't need you at all Chat Noir. No one can ever replace you," She gives him a wide grin, her cheeks dusting pink when he smiles back.

How long until she realizes she's falling for him? Or maybe with some luck she never will and I won't have to deal with all this will they- won't they nonsense they've had for nearly four years. I sigh but smile at the two regardless as we dived into a conversation discussing how we can include Chat more into our guardian duties.
