Queen Banana: Part 1

"Are you sure you're gonna be ok with this?" Mari asks me while finishing up one of the costumes. "Yes Marinette, it's not like this will be a social visit, there'll be actual work to do so we'll be too busy to talk or get akward anyway," I tell her while packing our bags and checking on the latest song I uploaded. I started feeling better and uploaded a song on my music page.

As for Marinette, she was worried about me because for our school's latest project, we were making a movie, and Luka and I were tasked with the music. She was worried it would be too akward to handle since what happened the last time I saw him but I needed to do this if I ever wanted to get back on the path of at least being Luka's friend again.

"What is it you're making again, a tablecloth?" Xuppu asks and Mari chuckles. "Not even close. It's a cape for the superhero of creation and this one is for the supervillain of destruction." She explains and Xuppu nods. "Oh, they must be capes for Chat Noir and Ladybug!" "No, it's for the movie we're making," I tell them and we're asked if we're gonna be famous. "No, we've been given small roles along with our other tasks but we will be on the news." "We'll also be late if we don't go soon."

I point out and Marinette rushes to pack the rest of her things and we head to the art room of the school to help set everything up for the shoot. When we got there the news team was already there, covering the story. "Under the initiative of the art teacher Jean-Pierre Monlataing one of Françoise-Dupont's alumni and the successful film director Thomas ASTRUC, the students are participating in an ambitious project where the students are producing a real-life movie. From script to storyboard, props, music, and costumes, everything is being done by the students themselves with financial aid from City Hall. The cherry on top is that the film will be released in select movie theaters thanks to famous producer Bob Roth."

I scan the room for Luka, finding him in the back with his headphones and scribbling musical notes in a notebook, approaching I can't help but smile as I watch him work. He was still as handsome as ever when his head turned and he's staring at me with a smirk. "See something you like?" He teases and I can feel my face flush as I cough into my hand. "Good to see you too Luka, I see you've already started," I quickly take my seat and he nods, grabbing a script. "It's always a pleasure to see you too (y/n)," He tells me with a wink before flipping the script to a certain scene.

"Have you taken a look at this scene? We were asked to make something hopeful and were given a playlist as an idea of what they think will work, this is what I have so far," He shows me his notebook and we get to work. Shortly after rehearsal starts we hear Chloé shout in disbelief. "What?! That's my role?! Unacceptable!" Luka looks at me confused and I chuckle as I tell him, "She's now realizing she's not playing a lead role."

"If this film is actually gonna be released in theaters and turns someone into a star it should be me. Besides Zoé and I auditioned together so why don't we have the same equally important role?" "Chloé we chose this role for you because we believe it's the best role for you," Mari tries to reason with her. "Then why are you casting Mylène as one of the roles? She has stage fright, right? Is she going to be ok doing that? If it's too much I can take over for you Mylène," Chloé points out.

"Is that her way of asking Mylène for the role?" Luka asks, somewhat amused. "That's the nicest way she knows how it's better than her demanding the role," We let them figure out the situation which ended with Mylène giving her the role she already played the main role in our last movie so we get back to work. "I noticed you uploaded your first song in a while today, I take it that means you're feeling better?" "Yeah, I do. You also seem to be doing better." "Well once I realized we weren't gonna drift apart I found hope," I turn away from him to take in a deep breath, where does he even come up with these sweet lines?

The next day we go to the set and prepare everything for filming. "In this scene, the entire population is put into an enchanted sleep so everyone just lay down there," Nino instructs us when Chloé storms out of the dressing room. "Wait! I was just told I would be playing the role of the supervillain of destruction! What's the meaning of this? Wouldn't it make more sense for the person who's actually been a hero to be the hero?"

"Chloé both of those roles are equally important," Nino starts to explain when Thomas crosses his arms and rolls his eyes at Chloé grumbling under his breath "A hero? You put the lives of others at risk to make yourself look better and even teamed up with Hawkmoth, that's irredeemable. You're the worst possible person for this role," Chloé's face goes red as she glares at Thomas. "How dare you! DADDY!" With that Chloé and Zoé switch roles.

The filming starts and after the first scene, we look it over to see how it is when Thomas makes another remark about how the role didn't suit Chloé. "No, what we need is a superhero film featuring a real superhero. Hey! What's black and yellow, has pretty blonde hair, and is gonna break the box office?" "That so-called hero Queen Bee?" "No, I was thinking of an original character...Queen Banana," We all couldn't help but snicker at the random idea shot out at us.
