We all stand in a line at the soccer field at the stadium which the school had rented out for today's PE class since Didier Roustan a famous sports journalist would be teaching the class. Currently, the two captains: Kim and Marinette were picking teammates.
"Max," Kim chooses before whispering to Markov. "Markov who's gonna give me a 100% chance of winning?"
Markov processes the answer when Marinette chooses Alya, causing a groan from Kim.
"Dang it Alya was Markov's pick."
"Hey! Using Markov is cheating!" Mari accuses and Kim shrugs.
"Hey, we're gonna need the best players if we're gonna win right? I choose...(y/n)."
I join Kim and Max while Madelyn scoffs.
"Since we obviously know who's gonna win I see no point in playing. I'm going home," She starts to walk away when Ms. Bustier steps in her path.
"Nobody is going home and nobody is going to cheat. That's why I asked Mr. Didier to join us to teach you how to play together and develop teamwork."
"Soccer is a great way to do this because in soccer it doesn't matter if you win or lose but that you're working together on and off the field. Can you all think of ways to make this more fair?" Mr. Didier asks and Alix smirks as she makes a suggestion.
"How about girls vs. boys?"
"No way! We'd lose again!" Kim instantly protests and suggestions are thrown about until drawing straws is suggested.
"We'll just wait a few more minutes for Nathaniel," Ms. Bustier says when Marc approaches muttering some excuse for why Nate couldn't come.
"Would you like to play instead?" Didier asks and Marc starts shaking his head.
"No thanks this isn't my class and I'm...Not that good."
"Your call. Mind passing me that ball?"
Marc proceeds to kick the ball to him with some impressive moves and I wrap my arm around him.
"Don't be modest, I've seen you play. You're really good and you love this sport. You should play with us."
He smiles at me and nods in agreement. A few minutes later and we were put in our teams and began playing. Of course, Madelyn who was put as one of the goalies had to cause trouble and began yelling at Sabrina when she tried to score a point.
"Sabrina don't you dare kick that ball at me! You're not allowed to play!"
Sabrina slightly whimpers, wanting to protest but her need to please was keeping her quiet when Chloé approached and helped Sabrina up.
"It's ok Sabrina you don't have to listen to her and while I don't see why you like to play this game it makes you all icky and tired, it's something you like to do so you have a right to play it," Chloé says, shivering in disgust at the fact playing made her sweat.
"The only thing she should be doing is listen to me!" Madelyn yelled, ready to pick a fight with Chloé.
"Excuse you? What gives you the right to boss around my best friend?!"
I snatch the ball since they were distracted and the game continued until Adrien picked up the ball and threw it at Nino. Adrien looks around confused when the whistle is blown and everyone stares at him. After a quick explanation of what he did wrong, he apologizes, admitting he doesn't know how to play soccer. After explaining the rules we continued the game, our opponent team scoring a point because Madelyn refused to do her job.
"Madelyn! You were supposed to stop the ball!" Kim starts yelling and Madelyn looks up from her phone to glare at him.
"There is no way I'm messing up my new manicure to catch that round thing. What if I break a nail?"
"I could switch with her, I love playing the goalie," Sabrina suggests when Alya reminds her they weren't on the same team.
"If we don't have a real goalie then it's a losing battle," Nino complains and Madelyn begins to walk off again.
"I refuse to play this stupid game, I'm going home."
"Madelyn you can't go home during school hours."
"But I don't wanna play. Why can't I sit on the bench with what's her name over there?" She points at the bench where Lila is sitting.
"Lila is injured."
Marinette, Adrien, and I scoff under our breaths.
"Well, I'm injured too in my wrists!" Madelyn lies, clutching her thigh as she allows in 'pain'.
"That's your thigh," Mari points out and Madelyn hisses in her face.
"Nobody asked you, baker girl!"
"Any suggestions for how to include your classmates while keeping the game fair and engaging?" Didlier asks but it was hard to find a solution since Madelyn would say no to every suggestion.
It was eventually decided she would switch with the other team's goalie each time one of the teams scored, only making her even angrier.
