I meet up with Sabine who looks around before asking me "Where's Marinette?"
"She said she needed to stop by somewhere first and she'll meet us at the bus stop," I respond and Sabine sighs in amusement as we walk to the bus stop.
"Honey, it's Mom, you have exactly four chouquettes to show up," Sabine tells Marinette's voicemail as the bus pulls up.
I hand the bus driver my ticket and step back for Sabine who puts the bag of chouquettes on the dashboard.
"Good day sir, do you mind if I put these here while I look for my wallet?"
"Yum, chouquettes," The driver licks his lips.
"They're left over from my class, nome made too. You'd be doing me a favor if you want them.," Sabine offers and the driver eagerly nods, relishing in the taste of the baked good.
"I'm here!" We hear Marinette huff out as she skids to the bus doors.
"This is my daughter Marinette who I'm certain didn't forget her ticket."
Mari blinks in realization. "I'm sorry Mom, I forgot."
"Marinette I asked you to remember one."
"It's ok, I'll just buy one," She digs into her purse before groaning. "I forgot my wallet."
"I've got a spare," Sabine says, pulling out two tickets and we walk further in the bus to see a wheelchair-bound man struggling to stay still because a man was standing in the handicapped spot, talking on his phone. (Pretty sure bus drivers legally have to make sure wheelchairs are buckled onto the bus)
"Hello, sir would you please move out of the handicap accessible spot so this young man may use it?" Sabine asks the man who waved her off with an excuse he was on a conference call. (Oh hell no I would've given him so much shit for not taking two steps to his left)
I glare at the man, about ready to yell at him when Sabine shakes her head at me soon looking around before placing one of her paintbrushes on the floor. The bus suddenly stops due to a light, causing the man to stumble and trip on the paintbrush. Quickly I help the man into the handicapped spot when Mari starts to freak out.
"I forgot about the pre- The new fashion magazine that came out. Can I borrow your wallet? I really need this month's edition."
"I don't think that's a good idea. What if you can't get back on the bus before it leaves again?" Sabine points out but Marinette persists.
"I'll be so quick. Please, please, please, please, please," She begs, hugging her mom.
Giving in Sabine hands over her wallet and Mari takes off only for her to not make it when the bus leaves and not surprisingly she calls in a panic.
"The bus left without me!"
"We know, we're on it," I snicker.
"Now what?"
"We'll get off at the next stop and wait for you. Meet us there and we'll walk the rest of the way," Sabine suggests and we make to step off at the next stop when a ticket inspector stands in our way.
"Ticket inspection."
I hand over mine and he clears me before turning to Sabine who gives him an apologetic smile.
"I'm sorry sir but my daughter got off earlier with mine but we're meeting up again at this stop if you wouldn't mind waiting."
"Nice try lady but that's a fifteen Euro fine," He says keeping her on the bus.
"Sir it's true-" I start to protest when the bus door closes and takes off.
"That's not good," I mutter as Mari runs up.
"Where's Mom?"
"A ticket inspector refused to let her off the bus because her ticket was in her wallet and gave her a fine but considering everything is in her wallet I don't see this ending very well," I explain while Marinette tries to call her.
"This is so weird she's not answering her phone."
"It may have been confiscated let's go to the police station and try to clear things up," I suggest and we start walking over when a bunch of police vehicles speed past us only to hear a woman scream loudly.
"TAKE THESE HANDCUFFS OFF ME!"
We see the vehicles get pushed back by wind and we quickly hide to transform. We approach the scene to find the street a mess, people running away in fear. Getting some civilians out of the way Ladybug asks for the situation.
"Some lady with chouquettes was arrested for having no ticket, ID, or money."
"Sabine..." I mutter before we head closer to see a golden woman in dragon armor making a mess, yelling at the police to take the handcuffs off of her.
We watch her target Officer Roger and the ticket inspector who jumped out of the way of an attack only for her to hold a building over their heads.
"I am innocent! Get these handcuffs off me otherwise, you will suffer the weight of injustice!"
This is where Ladybug and I step on, using our weapons to pull the building back up onto its stand, giving Officer Roger and the ticket inspector a chance to escape before we go confront Qilin.
"Stop! You're putting innocent lives in danger."
"If they're serving injustice then they're not innocent and if you're defending them then you're not on the side of justice either!"
