Qilin: Part 1

My 10 am alarm goes off and I turn it off with a groan. I hated waking up early, especially after a long night of dealing with Shadowmoth. To think I'd have to start waking up earlier when school started back up in a few weeks for our senior year in middle school. Getting up I get ready for the day and head downstairs for breakfast, stepping over the basket of laundry Sabine had set up for Marinette who started falling down the stairs.

"Good morning Sabine."

"Good morning (y/n). Your usual morning drink?"

"Yes please and thank you."

I look around, noticing everything Sabine has set up for Marinette this morning, and avoid messing with it as I sit at the table and take my drink gratefully, it always makes the mornings better.

"Gahh!" Marinette screams as she falls down the stairs, landing in the laundry basket.

"Good morning honey. Did you stay up late working on another project again?" Sabine asks when the news comes on, catching our attention.

"Last night Ladybug, Chat Noir, and (s/n), successfully prevented an explosion of the turbine at a cocoa shop factory, saving Paris from drowning in rotten chocolate due to an akumatized villain," Nadja covers last night's event.

I started making breakfast for me and Marinette while she did the laundry, letting her mom check her height when she came back from giving Tom a cup of coffee. 

I place our breakfast on the table as Mari joins, pouring herself a glass of milk before knocking the open container over. I smirk as I watch the milk spill into a sponge Sabine had strategically placed.

"Oh right! Mom my shoes are getting too small, think we could buy me a new pair?"

"What a good idea honey. (y/n) do you need new shoes?"

"Yeah, mind if I tag along?"

"Not at all. Why don't you two meet me right after my painting class?"

"We could go get some Dim-Sum for lunch before heading to the store?" Mari suggests and Sabine nods in agreement.

Barely a few bites into breakfast and our attention is pulled back to the news at Clara Contard reports that the lollipop sentimonster had re-appeared at City Square.

"Oh boy, we're super late for school!" Mari lies, getting up to leave.

"Marinette you're on a break. Your senior year won't start for at least a week," Sabine points out.

"She meant we're late for meeting up with Alya we're supposed to hang out today," I correct her.

"You won't forget to meet me at the end of my class?"

"I won't!"

"You won't forget to buy a ticket for the bus?"

"Promise!"

"You won't forget to change, will you?"

She rushes upstairs to change while Sabine and I laugh.

"Do you wanna cover her bus ticket or should I?" I asked as she got ready to leave. 

"I've got it covered this time. See you later (y/n)."

"Bye Sabine, have a good class!"

I head upstairs to find Mari telling Tikki about how she was more than a month late for Mother's Day.

"Today would've been the perfect day to make it up to her...Wait! I'll get her a gift before I meet her and I'll give it to her at the restaurant!"

"Cool idea but first there's a sentimonster to deal with," I remind her and we transform and go to deal with the sentimonster.

It wasn't easy to deal with either, this one was pretty persistent, Ladybug even having to call up her lucky charm for this one as we tried to stop it.

 "Chat Noir, (s/n)! Block its way!"

"On it!" We shout in unison using our staff/ spear to trip it long enough for her to properly use her lucky charm and fix everything.

After a quick goodbye Marinette and I de-transform in an alleyway close to where Sabine's class was. 

"Time to go meet up with Mom."

"Dressed like that?" I tease and she looks down to see she is still in her pjs. 

"Yeah you can't go looking like that," Tikik says as Marinette starts to run back home to change.

"I'd say this is one of those times she could transform into Ladybug to be quick about it," I tell Flaake as I head out to the meet-up spot.

"True. It's not like she's using her lucky charm for any selfish reasons."
