Heart Hunter: Part 1

Experiencing loss is a part of life. Some people lose their first love, some lose the harmony in their relationship, some people lose hope, others lose patience, and others lose their souls. Some lose their certainties and some have nothing to lose. 

As I go to the meet-up point with Ladybug and Chat Noir to finish up patrol, I pass by the Grand Paris to see them getting ready for Audrey and André's twentieth wedding anniversary, and Chloé turning her bee signal on, giving it a sad smile and turning it off before putting it away, it seemed she had still held onto some hope she'd become Queen Bee again but it was good to see she was finally starting to let go.

I made it there and there was nothing to report so we stay and hang out for a bit when Chat speaks up. "Oh yeah, I know you don't want us to know anything about our personal lives but after the whole Mayura thing I wanted to let you know so any future supervillains can't try that kind of trick again but I have a girlfriend." "Really? That's so awesome! Don't worry kitty I understand, I'm happy for you." "Thanks, hey what about you? Any new developments between that boy? Or is that asking too much?" "It's alright, he found someone else and I've been trying to move on especially since a friend pointed out I didn't act the best way because of my feelings for him." "Oh. I'm sorry to hear that."

We say quick goodbyes and head back home. I work on writing a new song when I hear Marinette squeal. "Yes! I just got my first request!" She rushes to her sewing machine to get to work. As time passed, she started focusing more on her fashion career, and updated her blog often, even taking down most of her Adrien photos and posters to hang up her new designs. A few minutes later I tap her on the shoulder and point at the clock, Tom and Sabine were catering the Bourgeois anniversary party and we had to bring some stuff to the location that they couldn't bring with their initial trip. Heading down to the bakery we start packing up the last of what they need when Tom calls and Marinette puts him on speaker, he wanted to make sure she would arrive on time. "Yes Dad, I do know where the Grand Paris Hotel is." "You're not gonna be late?" "Me? Late? I'm never late-" "Yes you are," Tom and I cut her off. "Ok yeah sure but this time I won't be late, promise." "Don't worry Tom, I'll make sure we get there on time," I reassure him and we start to head out, and in true  Marinette fashion, she trips when we make it out the door.

Thankfully Luka was here and caught the boxes she dropped. "Hey blueberry, what are you doing here?" I ask as he hands back the boxes. "I've been thinking about you." "When are you not thinking about me?" I counter with a smirk. "Never, you're just too cute and amazing to not think about. I think I finally found your melody at last. The tune that matches you completely. Wanna hear it?" I nod and he grabs the guitar from his basket and starts playing a beautiful melody that makes me blush. "What do you think?" "It's...Incredible and beyond sweet," I tell him with a smile. "Hmm it's still not quite right, I can do better," There's another call from Tom to make sure we left. 

"Sorry, we gotta go," He offers us a ride and we accept and make it to the hotel just in time. "Thanks for the ride blueberry. You wanna come with us?" I offer and he nods. "Yeah in a minute, I've got one last delivery around the corner to make." "Ok, see you in a bit," I give him a quick kiss and we head inside to find the event has already started. Heading over to the buffet table we spot Adrien and Kagami, causing Marinette to trip both of them soon running over to help. "Thanks, guys but I don't want you to miss the ceremony because of me." "Are you kidding? We can't wait to get away." "It's a good thing you're as clumsy as they are boring," Adrien and Kagami tell us as we head to the table and drop off the supplies. "Marinette, could you take the empty trays to the kitchen for us, please?" Sabine asks and Adrien asks to help and we agree just as Luka approached, slipping his hand into mine.

"Could you also bring us some drink umbrellas? They're also in the kitchen. Thanks," Tom says and Adrien, Kagami, and Marinette grab the trays and we all head to the kitchen. Once the trays were in the sink Kagami and Adrien start fencing with some ladles while Marinette looked for the drink umbrellas. After she finds them, she watches Adrien and Kagami sadly, Luka approaches her and tells her, "That's what a healthy relationship looks like, both of them are happy and don't try to control each other. If you really love him Marinette you'd be happy he's happy for them even if it's not what you wanted."
