After she finished, Jennie ignored the furious Nana and the stunned Li Lina. She pulled the sad and disappointed Irene and turned to leave. There wasn't much to talk about with these two anyway... She said plainly to Irene,

"Rene, let's go see your grandmother!"

She had originally wanted to have a chat with Irene's parents, but based on what she's seen, there was no point at all. In Irene's parents' eyes, there was probably only that two-faced hypocrite Nana.

Nana was even more angry when she saw the two of them leaving. How could she be bullied in her own home by these two good-for-nothings? How could this end so easily? She had to make them pay and told Li Lina aggrievedly,

"Mom, I can see that my younger sister really doesn't like me. I'd better return to the countryside..."

Jennie and Irene had just turned when they heard Li Lina's angry roar. Irene was very sad. She was clearly the biological daughter of this family, but why was she treated like this? She said sadly to Jennie,

Jennie looked at the sad Irene and didn't understand why her parents hated their biological daughter so much and loved the scheming adopted daughter. Jennie patted Irene's back and comforted,

"Grandma, I'm back. This is my good friend Jennie. She takes good care of me at school."

Irene's grandma had a head of white hair. Although she was old, she had a certain elegance about her. One could see that she must have been a sensible and honorable lady during her younger days. She wore black grandma clothes and looked at Jennie as she said lovingly,

"School is over. Quickly bring your friend in. Jennie, thank you for being my granddaughter's friend."

Jennie waved her hands when she heard this. Irene was very nice too and she liked her very much. Besides, the two of them had very similar experiences. How could she not understand Irene's pain? She smiled and said to Irene's grandmother,

"Grandma, don't mention it. Rene takes good care of me at school too."

As she said this, Jennie noticed that Irene's grandmother's cup was empty so she politely filled it with water. After all, she was the only person who treated Irene fairly. She must be a good person.

The senior Mrs. Bae saw Jennie's sensibility and liked her even more. Not only was this girl good-looking, but she was also sensible. She's a rare gem and it's very good for Irene to be friends with her. Grandma Bae said gently,

"Rene, go walk around with your friend. Make her feel at home."

These young people were all very energetic. They would be restless if they just sat there to keep an old lady company. It was better to let them walk around and tell each other secrets. Irene looked at Jennie and thought that she might feel bored too, so she said,

"I understand, Grandma."

Jennie stood still. She had no intention of leaving as she came here today to do something. And the only person in this family she could speak to was this old lady. She smiled and said to Grandma Bae,

"Grandma, I didn't come here to play. I came here to discuss something with you."

Originally, Jennie didn't want to tell Grandma about Nana poisoning Irene because it might create havoc for the family but after seeing Nana's vicious and two-faced behavior, she didn't want to hide it anymore. She wanted to make this two-faced hypocrite pay the price for her evil deeds!
