TW- fighting and yelling
"Honey, I'm home!" Shouted James from the door.
"What have I told you about yelling?" Regulus whisper- yelled.
"Sorry, I forgot." James says blatantly.
"Sorry, I forgot." Mocks Regulus.
James abruptly looks on from were he was previously staring. "What the fuck Reg?"
"I'm sick of you 'forgetting'. Can't you just not yell for once in your fucking life!" Regulus's voice rises slightly.
"I don't know what happened with you, but why are you taking it out on ME?" James emphasised the 'me'
"WHAT HAPPENED WITH ME!?" Regulus is now at the level of anger were he finds himself yelling. "OH MY GOD, WOULD YOU LOOK AT THAT AGAIN. I'M THE PROBLEM!"
"You know that's not what I mean."
"You know that that's exactly what you meant." He's silent for a beat."I know that's exactly what you meant. Don't fucking lie to me!"
"I KNOW THAT IS THE COMPLETE OPPOSITE OF WHAT I MEANT!" James looked stunned at the fact he yelled at Regulus, but he looks nowhere close to how shocked Regulus looked.
"I-." Tears are now threatening to fall out of Reggie's eyes.
"Reg, I'm so sorry, I don't know what came over me, I just, got so angry and wasn't-."
"I'm going to Sirius's."
"Reggie, please don't." James finds himself chasing after Reggie, but is stopped as Reg slams the front door, and that's it, he's gone, just like that.
James looks down at their cat, Hippo. "I fucked that up Hippo. Might just be us for a little bit now. What do I fucking do Hip?"
Hippo just walks away, just like Reg did minutes ago.
It's a long 4 days for both of them, neither have texted, or communicated with each other.
On the 4th morning, Regulus walks down the stairs from his bedroom, to see James and Sirius sitting on the living room couches. Sirius with a coffee in hand, and James with what appears to be a mint hot chocolate, extra whip cream, and topped with chocolate drizzle, so sweet. James has tears stained on his face, eyes puffy and red from crying.
"Reggie, hi." James says, noticing his appearance, frozen on the stairs.
"James." Reg says as he runs back up the stairs, but not quick enough to not hear James say "God I wish I never spoke. Now I got to wash my mouth out with soap."
This caused Reggie to freeze again. He sharply turns around to see tears streaming out of James's face, his handsome face, again. Reg without even realising runs over to where James is sitting. Almost knocking him back, jumps on him and hugs him, like nothing else matters in that very moment.
"I'm so so so so so sorry Jamie!" Reggie chants.
"Me too, I shouldn't have taken my anger out on you!"
"Me either."
"Come home?"
"...Yeah."
They're about to indulge in each other's taste when Sirius interrupts them. "I'm still here, go home, AND USE PROTECTION."
"COME ON SIRIUS!" Reg yells. "YOU RUINED THE MOMENT!"
"Yeah Pads. Learn some manners. Where were we?"
They look in each other's eyes before continuing from where they were. Sirius muttering complaints under his breath can be heard in the background, but they couldn't care less. All that mattered right now was James in Regulus's arms.
"I fucking love you James."
"I fucking love you too Reg."
It's safe to say, they went home, for more than one reason...
