Context: James and Regulus AREN'T dating yet. Wolfstar ARE. Regulus and Sirius were raised in a household where Christmas meant a family dinner, where they'd have to meet with the Dark Lord. Remus was raised in an orphanage, because Hope and Lyall died when he was young, where they didn't have Christmas. Regulus and Sirius moved in with the Potter's during late February, so there weren't any Christmas decor. The reason Remus isn't living with them, is because he doesn't want to feel like a burden being a werewolf, and he prefers being in Wales.
Quick side note, if you were wondering where Wolfstar and Peter are, it's a full moon, and Remus insisted on James not being there due to how badly damaged he got, and he asked Regulus to help distract him
***
"Eeeeh!" James squealed, toppling onto his bed, conveniently near Regulus. "I'm so excited for Christmas."
"Why would you be?" Asked Regulus, setting his book aside.
"All the presents, and my mum said she'd bake her almost world famous cookies. And Remus even said he'd stay with us for a couple days. And she even said, if it was okay with you and Sirius, that my aunt and uncle visit for a weekend." James listed, jumping back up.
S Chris"Why would you be excited to see your aunt and uncle?" Regulus folded his arms in front of him.
James glanced over at Regulus. "Because they're really nice? And always have the best presents." He emphasised.
"Don't they yell at you? And abuse you?"
"No?" It sounded more like a questions James was asking, rather than a statement. "Did yours?"
"Yeah?" Regulus nodded slowly, open- mouthed.
"Reg, that's not normal." James informed Regulus.
The younger hesitated. "Oh."
"Are you okay?"
Regulus didn't reply for ages. "Can we talk about something, not family related?" Regulus mumbled.
"Yeah, of course." James sat next to him, cuddling into his side. "Mum said we could help her decorate. She got gifted this giant box from her coworker as a retirement gift. The hospital is apparently entirely decked out in Christmas drip."
Regulus chuckled lightly.
"Want to sneak into the kitchens?" James asked him, eyes wide like a puppy.
"Do I ever not?"
"Yes."
"I so do not." Retorted Regulus.
"Do you want me to list them?"
"Bet you can't." Regulus mocked him.
"Well remember that time where you snuck into our dorm, and stole all of Remus' chocolate frogs, proceeded to blame it on me, and refused to go down to the ki-" Regulus used his hands to cover James' mouth.
"Shush. Yes, I'll go to the kitchens with you." Regulus smiled.
James smiled back.

They skipped up to the fruit bowl portrait, lightly tickling the pear until they were let in.
"Hello Ella." Regulus waved at the frail house elf.
"Master Regulus! How may I help you today?" She ran up to him, her young age showing.
"Could we get some chocolate frogs, and" he trailed off, silently asking James what he wanted.
Ella continued tugging at the hem of Regulus' shirt.
"Could we also get some butterbeer, and a cake?"
Ella nodded enthusiastically, and quickly ran off to prepare the food.
"What's the cake for?" Asked Regulus as they sunk against the cold, brick wall to the even colder, linoleum floor.
"We deserve to celebrate." James chuckled up at the ceiling at his own expense. "Sorry, that sounds so cringy."
"No, it's okay. I didn't find it cringy." Regulus stared forwards, feeling James' gaze burn into his cheek. Regulus turned to meet James' gaze, his cheeks tinted crimson red.
It felt like the word didn't exist anymore, as if it was just them two left alone in a world made for more.
James slowly leant in, Regulus copying the motion.
There faces were mere centimetres apart, and James moved closer.
"Master Regulus. Your food is ready." Ella ran up to them.
Regulus quickly pulled away from James, watching as he stared confused.
Regulus took the platter of food from her, and stood back up. He held his hand out to James. "We best get back."
"Yeah." James muttered. "Yeah." He repeated
Regulus felt bad for ruining the moment, but they had to go. He didn't let go of James hand though.
They climbed back up the steep, narrow stairs, hand- in- hand.
They walked down the hallways, hiding whenever they heard another voice, whether it be a prefect, head boy or girl, or Filch and Mrs Norris.
They clambered up the moving stairs, desperately trying not to spill any butterbeer, there was no spell to prevent it unfortunately.
They were on the floor of the Gryffindor common room, before they heard the shouts of Peeves above them.
"Shit." Regulus whispered.
"Regulus Smellus, and James Wames are dating." They sung.
Out of the blue, a giant mistletoe falls from the ceiling, directly above them.
They're both magically stuck in place.
"Shit." James copied.
They both remained silent for the next few moments.
"Well." Regulus was first to break the silence. "Fuck it."
Regulus cupped James cheeks, and pulled him into a passionate kiss.
James seemed shocked, before he reacted, and moved his mouth in sync with Regulus'.
Regulus bit James' bottom lip, and when James gasped, he took advantage of it and shoved his tongue in there. He explored his mouth with his tongue, having a tongue wrestle.
The peeves ran away, shouting 'ew's.
Regulus took dominance, and James nearly fell over.
When Regulus pulled away, James whined.
Regulus grabbed his hand.
"Don't worry, we're just going back to the dorm." Regulus winked at him.
