I wrote this chapter in my head while in class, and then forgot the majority of it, so...

Regulus stared, thoughtless, at him wooden percussion instrument.

"Everyone, 3 2 1." She teacher counted down, slapping the wooden box she was seated upon.

Regulus brought the mallet to the keys, and began playing softly.

He was bass, so his part wasn't too difficult compared to melody, or alto.

'FFF FG GG GC CC CA AA A'  flooded his head, trying to stay in time with the slapping noise.

'1' he counted. '2' repeat. '3' just keep playing. '4' he felt as if he was being judged '5' in reality no one cared about '6' him. '7' nearly done, just 3 left. '8' 2 left. '9' and '10'.

"Chorus." The instructor shouted to the class.

He shifted to the chorus, which was significantly easier. 'FFFF GGGG CCCC AAAA' repeat.

His thoughts were interrupted by the sound of shouting. "Boys! What on Earth are you doing?" She gestured to the two boys a row behind Regulus. Regulus rolled his eyes 'of course. Sirius and James' he never liked the two of them, too noisy for his liking, always believed they were better than others, which they were most definitely not. "It's really not that hard. It's four straight notes, not whatever that just was. This is not a junior learn- to- play, that's around the corner, and I'm starting to think that's where you need to go."

'Hard to play four straight notes when you're not straight' Regulus stifled a laugh, but straightened his posture as soon as the teacher glared at him.

"From the beginning of the chorus." She announced, reseating herself at the piano.

'Great, she just got ten times stricter. This is easy anyway. FFFF GGGG CCCC AAAA FFFF GGGG CCCC AAAA FFFF GGGG EEEE AAAA FFFF GGGG CCCC EEEE A rest A rest'

"To the beginning!" The antique lady shouted over the tune of marimbas playing perfectly in sync.

They'd been doing this song for three weeks, so Regulus had adjusted to the rhythm. Better than most though.

"Boys! I don't want to keep having to talk," 'yell' "to you. We've been doing this for three weeks!"

The boys apologised.

"No. I want to hear you boys play it on your own, the entire thing."

'Good luck' he thought. As expected, the boys messed up.

"I want to see you two after class. Maybe hand out some junior fliers. Regulus, play for the class will you."

Regulus straightened his posture immediately at the attention. He played the rhythm softly, and well, really well.

"See boys. That's how I'm expecting you two play at this level." She muttered something under her breathe, before returning to the keys and counting them in once again.

Regulus couldn't help but smile in satisfaction, as James and Sirius begged him to tutor them.

"Sirius, I'll help you at home. James I'll help you after class." He finally agreed. He would've preferred only one shared class, but they'd just be distracted. Plus he didn't mind spending some time with James.

"Thank you. Thank you. Thank you." Both boys chanted, being shushed by Madam Pince, their music instructor.

"Unless you two are asking Regulus got help, I don't want to hear anything out of you two." She told them.

"Well actually-" Sirius started, but stopped when Regulus smacked him on the forearm.

After class, Regulus grabbed his music, and began to walk to his car.

"Regulus." James yelled after him. Regulus stayed staring forward. 'Ignore. Ignore. Ignore. Ignore, and he will eventually go away. Nope. He's tapping me on the shoulder. God damnit.'

Regulus turned around sharply to the touch, spooking James.

"Hey Reg-"

"Don't call me that."

"Sorry Reggie. Can you please, please, please, please, please-"

"Out with it already." Regulus told him, tapping his foot.

"Jesus, I wasn't done. Please, please, please, please, please," James emphasised, "tutor me."

Regulus sighed. "Fine."
