~Bruce's POV~
"You put my kid in a good school, Batman?"
"She's in the Academy, Harley. She actually made some friends there."
"Good. That's... good." Harley smiled softly and sliced another vine. "She's a smart kid, y'know? Smarter than me even! Right, Cat?"
"Domino can outsmart any of us if she wanted to. She survived a fight with droids for three hours with nothing but her bat and a few grenades before Robin came to help her." Selina said and turned to me with a frown. "Batman taught her well, Harls."
"Robin's a good egg, right? He takes care of her?"
"They're attached at the hip. You barely ever see one without the other... he's always right behind whenever she needs him. Wouldn't be surprised if they started dating before they finish high school."
"Is she happy, Batman? Because me giving her up would mean nothing if she isn't-"
"She's happy, Harley. You did the right thing in letting me take her in." I answered, watching as the last of the vines exploded. "That's the last of them, I should-"
"Bat..." Selina called out and gestured to Harley who was wiping her tears. "Harls, you alright, sweetie?"
"Hmm? I'm alright, Cat." Harley assured, not looking up at both of us. "Is it normal to want to be selfish with your kid?"
"You're the psychiatrist. You tell me."
"Is her name really Domino or is it just her alias? I don't remember when you filled out the birth certificate." She shrugged and I sighed watching as Selina left with my comms.
"You weren't there, Harley. She's listed as my daughter but with an unknown mother. That was the deal." I explained and gestured for her to sit on a vine. "And she chose her name with Robin's help."
"Can you tell me?"
"Maeve... her name is Maeve Elizabeth."
"Maeve..." Harley repeated with a small smile. "It sounds like her... does it have a meaning?"
"Joy... which is fitting because after we said her name for the first time, she cried tears of joy."
"I want you to fix her birth certificate and have Selina as her mother."
"Harley, I don't-"
"I'm trying to do what's best for my girl, Bats. And what's best for Maeve is to erase any traces of me from her life." She sighed and I widened my eyes. "She needs a mom, and Selina's the only one I see fit to be one."
