"Never thought I'd see the day where my baby sister carried a baby bag around."
"You're late, Jade."
"Is this her?" Jade cooed at Vi who was on the ground playing with Dick who was dressed as Nightwing. "I thought the bird wasn't coming?"
"I'm not. I have night shift duties with Cass." Dick pointed out and gestured for Jade to pick up Vi. "Jade, meet your niece. Viola, meet your auntie Chesh."
"Gotta give it you, Richard. You help make cute babies."
"Nah, that girl's all Mae. Look at the eyes."
"She does have the same terrifying shade of green Mae has."
"Funny." I rolled my eyes. "Y'know, Jade... you could see your niece more often if-"
"We've had this conversation, Maeve. My answer's no." Jade defended just as Artemis walked in.
"Jade... Lian needs her mother." Artemis sighed and tossed me the crowbar. "She's at the age where she's asking questions and we can't keep coming up with excuses. Will's barely hanging on whenever she asks."
"You four raised her just fine. Lian is better off without me."
"We can't replace the love of a mother." Dick pointed and gestured to Vi. "Take it from me, Jade. Lian and Vi might be daddy's girls, but they still beg for their mothers at the end of the day."
"I was never cut out for the soccer mom life, you three know this."
"Neither am I, Jade. We make it up as we go." I shrugged and grabbed my guns from the changing table. "You know the childhood I had, Jade... It's not exactly the one that makes you wanna raise a child and here I am."
"My mind's made up, monkey. The best option for Lian is for me to disappear... She'll thank me eventually."
"And there's no way we can change your mind, Chesh?"
"Wish I could say yes... But no."

"So she's definitely not coming back?"
"Nope. And she's watching Wall and Mouse put Li to bed from two houses down." I sighed and Will looked down. "I'm sorry, Will. But tonight was our last chance to get her to change her mind and she didn't."
"Do you know where she's gonna go?" He asked and I placed a hand on his shoulder.
"We're taking her back to Santa Prisca. Talia agreed to negotiate terms since Damian told her I take care of him when Bruce isn't around. I'll make sure she's safe and taken care of as well as negotiate visits when Lian is older and if Jade truly wants to know her."
