"What are you two doing?"
"Teaching our dove to fly. So far she's loving it." I said, doing a couple more flips on the high bar before landing in front of Viola and made her laugh. "You love watching Mama fly, don't you, my little dove?"
"Mama's a natural, isn't she?" Dick smiled and picked her up. "But you're gonna be even better than us, my dove."
"How was work?"
"Excruciating and my partner is so incompetent that he almost tampered with a crime scene on accident." He sighed and pecked my lips. "The Maroni's are at it again, but with the intel Babs sent me last night, I should be able to handle it without Nightwing."
"I've been dying to get back out there. Maybe Domino can finally make an appearance after almost a year and help out." I offered and he raised an eyebrow. "You know that being a housewife and retired ain't my thing and the reason I work from home is because of Vi."
"It's just weird because we've never worked together like that."
"Arkham City, remember? I saved yours and Tim's asses from Penguin while in civvies and two months pregnant."
"I thought that night was a fever dream or that I got a concussion and forgot about it."
"Strangely, so do I... I think we all just decided to forget that night, especially Dad." I shuddered.
"So... Domino's ready to terrorize Blüdhaven? Because Nightwing misses his partner in crime." Dick teased and cooed when Vi rested her head on his shoulder.
"I'm starting small until I get the swing of things again. I've been MIA for almost a year focusing on the Foundation and Wayne Enterprise, housework, giving Steph moral support while she battles freshman year of pre-med and holding down the fort... Babs says I'm almost Wonderwoman."
"I have to take some PTO. After this case, I'll take a few days off from both jobs. I'm sure Jaybird or Tim won't mind taking my shift." He promised and I nodded. "Maybe we'll leave Vi with Jay for a few hours while we go to Wonderland. Because it's been a little over a year since we actually had a night to ourselves."
"Actually... mouse and I have some small business to take care of with Chesh and I was hoping on taking Vi with me so they can finally meet."
"What kind of business?"
"Nothing bad. Just a small drop off that will only take a night, two at most due to traveling."
