Kyoko had raced to the University when one of her security, who she had employed to watch over Anele because she knew her family would not stay away, told her her brother had come to see Anele. She had failed to protect her before but she would do everything to protect her this time. She got to the university in time to hear her say...
" You had to try?! Kenji if you were an innocent sixteen year old girl who was excited for her birthday party, excited that your parents finally eased up on the strictness and let you stay out late. Let you spend the night with the woman who you loved and thought loved you back. The woman you saw a future with. The woman who claimed to love you no matter what, only for her to take your rapist side just because they were her brother and let her friends jump you because she believed her brother when he said you threw yourself onto him. A sixteen year girl who just understood loving someone non family and dating someone. Then have your parents believe you're a liar because " the Himura's are good people". If you were that girl and the man who ruined your whole life asked for forgiveness, would you forgive?"
Kyoko eyes welled up just listening to her, she felt guilty for her part in ruining Anele's life. She wished she could turn back the hands of time, to protect her from her brother. They had not noticed her presence yet so she figured she would leave even though all she wanted was to comfort her and wipe her tears away.
" Anele I just want us to move on, to forget about the past and build a new friendship. For me to get to know my kids." Kenji
Kyoko could kick her brother for his lack of empathy. Anele just poured her heart out to him and that is all he can say. Anele sniffled and wiped her tears, her voice quivering with anger and hurt.
"Move on? Forget about the past? How can I do that, Kenji? How can I just erase the years of pain and trauma that I've endured because of you and your twisted family? You took away my innocence, my childhood, my trust, and my belief in love. Now you stand here, asking for forgiveness, expecting me to just forget everything?"
Kyoko could see the anguish in Anele's eyes and the weight of the past bearing down on her. She couldn't bear to see her former friend suffer any longer. Stepping forward, Kyoko spoke up, her voice filled with determination.
"Anele, you don't have to forgive him if you're not read and it's not your responsibility to build a new friendship with him. Your healing and well-being come first. You deserve justice and closure, and I will do everything in my power to help you find that."
Anele turned to Kyoko, her eyes searching for sincerity.
"Can I really trust you, Kyoko? Can I believe that you won't let him hurt me again?"
Kyoko took Anele's hands in hers, looking deeply and lovingly into her eyes.
"I promise you, Anele, I will protect you. I won't let him or anyone else harm you ever again. From this moment forward, you are not alone. I stand by your side, and never abandoned you like before."
A flicker of hope appeared in Kyoko's eyes as she spoke, finally she could have her friend back and maybe they could grow into more. That is all she wanted to make amends with her and have her back as her girlfriend.
"Okay, Kyoko. Let's fight. Let's make sure no one else has to go through what I've been through and let's make sure justice prevails. I'm pressing charges against your brother."
There was a unanimous shocked gasp from the siblings. Kyoko's was rendered speechless.
