" Nice to see you still care about me."

" Stop it Byeol, you know I've been very busy lately."

Anele smiled hugging her friend. Who, due to work and now studying online, thanks to the Himura's, she had not seen much of.

" Talking about busy how's life as a Himura."

Byeol smiled mischievously.

" Don't! You know a Himura is the last thing I want to be and I'm currently interacting with them because of the twins."

Forgiveness was not easy and she still held resentment for the Himura's and their son but she was willing to be civil for her children.

" Dealing with them is not as bad as I thought and they respect what I want for the twins but Koko is the one who spends most of the time with them. As they speak she's with them at work."

" She's doing everything to get back in your pants hey?."
Byeol

" Yep and I must say after this weekend, I just might let her back in my bed."

With eyes wide as saucers, Byeol excitedly asked her what had happened that had her thinking like this.

" Well first she told me how I've been neglecting the twins needs, which hurt at first but she was right. Then she spent the day with us at the theme park, which was so much fun and the twins loved every minute of it."

The day turned out to be fun despite her reluctance to go to the theme park with Kyoko and despite how it started out.

" Later she kept them occupied and out of sight so I could study, also made dinner for us. Both on Saturday and Sunday. Sunday she also took them with to her friends house who was having some event. I don't remember ever having a full study without without any interruptions before and I'm very grateful to her."

Byeol listened intently, impressed by Kyoko's efforts to support Anele and the twins. It was clear that she was making an effort to be involved and helpful, and Anele's gratitude was evident.

"Wow, it sounds like she's really stepping up to help out. Maybe she's genuinely trying to make things right between you two."

Byeol suggested, a hopeful glint in her eyes. Anele nodded thoughtfully.

"Maybe she is. I'm not completely sure yet, but I do appreciate everything she's done for us lately. It's made a big difference for me and the twins."

As they continued to catch up, Anele couldn't ignore the small part of her that was reconsidering her feelings towards Kyoko. Maybe, just maybe, there was a chance for them to rebuild their relationship. The ringing of her cellphone startled her from her thoughts. She pulled it out of her pocket to find it was her parents calling.

" Why are you starring at it like that?, answer them."
Byeol

" I actually haven't spoken to them in months. I've been avoiding all their calls, messages and their existence since that night."
Anele

" You've given the Himura's a chance maybe you should hear them out."
Byeol

" The Himura's aren't my family, they were my parents and they failed me. Now I'm supposed to hold hands with them and sing khumbaya, it doesn't work like that."

Anele sighed as she declined the call and put her phone back in her pocket.

"I understand why you feel that way, but maybe there's a chance for a reconciliation. It's worth considering, at least,"

Byeol said gently.

Anele shook her head,

"I don't think so. I've moved on and I don't need them in my life anymore."

Byeol placed a comforting hand on Anele's shoulder,

"I support whatever decision you make, but just remember that forgiveness can be liberating. It's up to you."

Anele nodded, feeling conflicted. She knew deep down that she needed to address the pain and anger she held towards her parents, but it felt like an insurmountable task.
