Although she did not plan to kiss Anele, Kyoko was glad that she did and did not regret it at all. After her encounter with Anele she had gone to her company as she was done with the financial books at the restaurant. Everyone would be getting their pay tomorrow and she was hoping to hear from Anele. Kyoko owned e-commerce companies that sold everything from food to cars. Her companies were successful, hence Anele did not understand why she bought a restaurant.
Kyoko was surprised to find that her lips still tasted as good as they did six years ago. All she wanted was her Anele back and hopefully, she could convince Anele to end it with Bai and take her back.
" Ma'am?"
Kyoko's mind was occupied with the kids she shared with Anele, even though it was a split second and one sided, she did not hear one of her employees talking to her. Startled, Kyoko snapped out of her thoughts and focused her attention on the employee standing in front of her.
"I'm sorry, what did you say?"
The employee, a young woman named Rei, repeated her question timidly.
"I was just wondering if you wanted me to send out the job advertisements tomorrow, as scheduled?"
Kyoko sighed, realizing she had been lost in her own thoughts again.
"Yes, please go ahead and send them out and make sure to start interviewing as soon as possible because I'm desperate for an assistant."
Rei nodded and walked away, leaving Kyoko alone with her turbulent emotions. She couldn't shake off the guilt she felt for pursuing Anele, knowing that she was currently in a relationship with someone els but at the same time, she couldn't deny the strong connection she still felt with her after all these years.
As Kyoko continued with her work, a part of her mind kept replaying the moments she had spent with Anele. Their kisses, their laughter, their shared dreams – they all seemed like distant memories now, but Kyoko desperately wanted to bring them back to life.
She had always been independent and successful in her business endeavours, but Anele had ignited a passion in her that went beyond material achievements. She had been her first love ( even though she had dated plenty of women), the person who had made her believe in the possibility of a soulmate and now, despite the years apart, she couldn't let go of that hope.
Kyoko knew she had to approach the situation delicately. She couldn't just barge into Anele's life and demand that she leave Bai for her. She needed to give her space and time to think, and hope that she would realize the depth of their connection. Rei returned with a few files for her, she decided to ask for advice.
" What would it take to give an ex who hurt you badly a second chance?"
Rei paused for a moment, thinking carefully before responding.
"If someone who hurt me badly in the past wanted me back, there would have to be a few things they would need to do. First and foremost, they would have to acknowledge and take responsibility for the pain they caused me. It's important for them to show genuine remorse and understanding of the impact their actions had on my life."
She paused, organizing her thoughts before continuing.
"Secondly, they would need to demonstrate significant personal growth and change. It's not just about apologizing, but about actively working on themselves and addressing the issues that led to their past behavior. This could involve therapy, self-reflection, and a commitment to becoming a better person. They would need to consistently prove over time that they can be trusted again, through their actions and not just their words. It would take time to rebuild that trust, and they would have to be patient and understanding throughout the process."
Kyoko thanked her.
