Anele wanted to turn around as soon as she arrived at the Himura's doorstep. After everything that happened between her, Kenji and his parents, she feared she would have another post traumatic breakdown. She stood staring at the huge mansion front door hesitant to ring the doorbell while the twins, Dae and Dara looked on with confusion evident on their faces.

Kyoko who had seen that she had arrived, the only one who knew she was coming, wondered why she was not ringing the doorbell. Her brother and parents had wondered why she came home unexpectedly and ordered the chef to make food enough for nine , since Kyoko's grandparents were in attendance too, but all Kyoko had said was business associates were coming over.

Anele on the other hand thought the family was expecting her and their grandchildren. She assumed they would be welcomed with open arms but now, as she stood frozen in front of the door, doubts began to creep into her mind. Maybe this was too soon and Kyoko was wrong.

What if the Himura's didn't actually want her there and just the grandchildren? What if Kenji only did this to please hi grandparents? What if they were all doing this because the elder Himuras did not believe in abandoning family. The memories of her previous encounter flooded back, especially the memories of Kenji forcing her in the same home she was currently standing in front of. This was the same house that Kenji had raped her in.

On the other side Kyoko recalled that this house held bad memories for Anele and she might be having a difficult time with being here. She stood up from the couch while her family looked on, to go check on her.

" Where are you off to?"
Her grandmother asked.

" I need a smoke."

Her grandmother and mother hated that she smoked but were tired of talking to her about it, so they shooed her away.

Outside the twins were concerned and decided, after communicating with their eyes to intervene, Dae tugged at her sleeve, looking up with his innocent eyes.

"Mommy, are we not going inside?"

he asked, his voice tinged with confusion.

Anele took a deep breath, gathering her strength. She couldn't let her fears dictate her actions forever. She had to face her past head-on, for the sake of her children and for her own healing. With trembling hands, she finally reached out and pressed the doorbell.

The sound echoed through the quiet street, causing her heart to race. Seconds felt like hours as she waited, unsure of what response awaited her and then, slowly, the grand door creaked open, revealing Kyoko, a sigh of relief involuntarily left her throat.

Kyoko's mother appeared behind her with a surprised expression on her face.

"Anele?"
she gasped, her voice laced with disbelief.

"What.. are you doing here?"

Anele swallowed the lump in her throat, her voice barely a whisper.

"I... I thought you were expecting us?."

Kyoko coughed. Mrs. Himura's eyes softened as she took in the sight of Anele and her children.

"We...weren't aware,"

she admitted with her scolding eyes on Kyoko.

"but that doesn't mean you're not welcome. Please, come inside."

Relief washed over Anele, tears welling up in her eyes. She slowly stepped into the grand foyer, feeling the weight of her fears being lifted off her shoulders. As she and her children were enveloped in warm embraces from Kenji's parents, Anele knew that she had taken an important step towards healing and forgiveness.

" Oh my they look just like Kenji and Kyoko when they were younger."

The Himura's swooned over the twins. It was their first time meeting their grandchildren since they were born. The twins were also enjoying the attention and were overjoyed when Kyoko brought out the gifts she had bought them. Anele did not want them spoiled but stayed silent.
