There was sudden silence in the restaurant as customers and staff watched the woman who had just walked into their restaurant. They were shocked by her presence since her type never came to such low class restaurants. They knew who she was because of the media and knew her family was one of , if not thee most powerful in the country. She did not care for the stares but only for one person. Who was not even aware of her presence. She was too busy attending to a family to notice her . Anele was never easily distracted when she was busy with something and Kyoko admired this about her.
" Ne_"
She was about to address her by her nickname but recalled her agitation when she used it a few days ago.
"excuse me."
It was a glimpse, it came and left in a split second but she saw it for the first time in years, she smiled when she turned to her but when she realised , it was not just any customer disturbing her, her smile quickly turned into a sneer.
" Sorry I'm busy."
Her voice was professional, her cold tone sent a shiver to Kyoko but this would not stop her from getting her forgiveness.
" Don't be like that-"
" Ma'am if you're here to order food you can get another waitress's attention, she'll take you to a table or go to the takeaway section if you're not here to sit."
Anele kept a smile on her face which Kyoko had the urge to remove since it was not the smile she wanted to see. It was the professional smile one used in the work place, fake.
" Miss Himura you're early."
Beatrice showed up at the right time and even though she scolded her with her eyes, Anele figured she noticed her behaviour towards Kyoko but she did not care. She was grateful for Beatrice in that moment and quickly walked away. Without hearing their conversation.
" I have another meeting can we make this quick."
" Oh, ohk. I just wanted to apologise for her behaviour. I assure not all our waitresses are like that and I assure her, I'll personally fire her-"
" There's no need for that."
From what Aiko had told her, this job was important to Anele and she would do nothing that would make her work here harder.
" It's my fault, I shouldn't have disturbed her while she was attending to customers."
Beatrice said nothing and walked her into the office. Kyoko had a lunch meeting with the owner of the restaurant and since she was early, Beatrice let her wait in the office.
" Beatrice what's this about you giving Winston extra shifts, when you said you'd let me know of any available extra shifts."
Kyoko was seated in the spinning office chair and had turned away from the door when Anele came in visibly agitated.
" You know I need-"
When Kyoko turned around in the chair Anele became more agitated. She wanted to ask why she was in the manager's office, instead she kissed her teeth and turned to walk out. Only for Kyoko to quickly slammed the door shut.
" Please."
Anele closed her eyes as her breath tickled the side of her throat. Kyoko has a hoarse voice, which sounded like she was growling as she spoke near Anele's ear. Kyoko did this purposefully, knowing how it used to make her weak. Anele recalled this too but that was then. Then when she had love for Kyoko, when she thought Kyoko was the best thing that ever happened to her but she knew better now.
" Move!"
With all the strength she could muster up, she pulled the door open and walked out, deaf to Kyoko's screams. Kyoko's hand turned red as she seethed in pain.
