" Nurse Leah!"

Kyoko paused for a second, mid grabbing a toy from the top shelf in the store when she heard the twins unanimously greet someone.

" Oh hi you two, nice to see you two again and healed."

Anele had just turned into the toy isle when she heard and saw a woman crouched over talking to her children. She walked over to them, startling a jumpy Kyoko.

" Healed?"

She looked at Kyoko , whose jumpy behaviour she found strange but dismissed it.

" Huh?, yeah they had a little flu the time they were over at my parents and we had to take them to the clinic."

The strange woman looked at Kyoko confused but said nothing, it wasn't her place and she did not want to anger the Himura's.

" It wasn't anything serious, hence I didn't inform you about it."

Kyoko hoped Anele believed her but made a mental note to talk to her parents later about this encounter.

" It's okay, you must've had a huge impact for these two to remember you, they hate visiting the clinic because of needles."

The women laughed but the nurse could sense Kyoko's anger and quickly said her goodbyes, claiming she had somewhere else to be.

" I hope she didn't leave because of me."

Anele sensed that she was uncomfortable and in a rush to get away from them.

" Why would you think that, I mean she's here shopping and probably doesn't want to impose on us."

Kyoko said but Anele felt it was more than that.

" Did you have a relationship with her?"

" What!?" _Kyoko

" No need to be defensive but you're both acting weird and I'm just wondering if you've had sexual relations with her?"

Anele asked Kyoko, who did not expect such a question and it irritated her to an extent but understood how she could come to that conclusion.

" Look I'm engaged to you now and who I was with in the past is in the past. With that said I've never had sexual relations with that woman."

Kyoko's voice wavered slightly as she responded, still taken aback by Anele's blunt question. She didn't like the insinuation that there might be something more between her and Nurse Leah.

"I understand why you might think that, given the way we were acting, but I assure you, there was nothing romantic or sexual between us. We met through the twins on that day only, that's all."

Anele studied Kyoko's face, searching for any signs of deception. After a moment, she nodded, seemingly satisfied with her response.

"Alright, I trust you. Sorry for asking, it's just that you seemed... affected when she showed up. I couldn't help but wonder."

Kyoko let out a sigh of relief, grateful for Anele's understanding. She did not want her worrying about the nurse and eventually snooping around, finding out things that could ruin their relationship.

"I appreciate your trust, Anele and I'm sorry if my behavior made you doubt me but be test assured that you will never be in a situation where you'll have to deal with my exes."

Anele reached out and gently took Kyoko's hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze. She felt she might have overreacted, after all she too had a past and Kyoko never acted the way she just did.

"I understand, Kyoko. We all have our pasts, our connections. What matters is the present and the future we're building together. I'm not jealous, I just want to be sure we're on the same page."

A soft smile spread across Kyoko's face as she looked into Anele's eyes, feeling a warmth and love that reassured her. The twins looked on as Kyoko caressed their mother's cheek lovingly.

" We are."

"Eeuw!"

The twins looked away in disgust when the couple kissed, they were young and still believed in cooties. Their interaction with nurse Leah forgotten, the couple continued their grocery shopping.
