" Nice of you to remember I exist."

Kyoko only came to see her because she was horny and Anele had aroused her, only to leave her hanging. She faked a smile and pulled the woman into her arms when she tried to walk away from her. Kyoko new how to coax her and began planting soft kisses on her neck.

" Come on, you know I've been busy with work. You should know how the company is at this time of the year."

Kyoko tried to get her out of her t-shirt.

" Kyoko I know but that's not an excuse I haven't seen you in weeks and now you show up with a weak explanation. No!"

Lulu pushed her away gently, a mix of frustration and desire evident in her eyes, when she tried to kiss her. This frustrated Kyoko because she only came here to fuck and not argue.

" Lulu I'm trying, you forget I have a business to run and a successful business at that."

"That's not enough. We've been together for a while now, and I need more than just your touch when you feel like it."

Kyoko sighed, realizing that her attempts to distract and seduce were not going to work this time. She released her, stepping back to give her space. Lulu was not her girlfriend but she was a constant presence in her life when she needed a companion and she had made this clear to Lulu.

" Lulu you know what this is, you've always known what we are and I explained long ago that I can't give you that. Made it clear from the start and you agreed to us just being friends with benefits."

Lulu looked down, her disappointment evident in her eyes. She knew Kyoko was right. They had set boundaries from the beginning, but as time passed, her feelings had grown stronger. It was getting harder for her to accept the reality of their arrangement.

"I know, Kyoko,"

Lulu replied, her voice laced with a tinge of sadness.

"but emotions don't always follow logic, you know? I can't help how I feel."

Kyoko's heart ached as she saw the pain in Lulu's expression. She had never wanted to hurt her, but she also couldn't deny who she was and what she wanted in life. The balance between her business and personal life was a delicate one. Plus she realised that she was still very much in love with Anele.

"I understand, I'm sorry"

Kyoko said softly, reaching out to gently touch Lulu's cheek.

"..but I can't give you what you want. I can't promise you more than what we have now."

Lulu closed her eyes, trying to hide the tears that threatened to spill over. She didn't want to lose Kyoko, but she also didn't want to keep torturing herself with unfulfilled desires.

"I've been patient with you, hoping you'd see me as someone good enough to call a girlfriend or even better a wife and to be honest that's the only reason I agreed to be your fuck buddy. I thought eventually you'd love me but I fooled myself..."

Lulu finally said, her voice trembling slightly.

" ...it's time I put myself first, love myself."

Kyoko nodded understandingly, her heart heavy with guilt. She had never wanted to be the cause of Lulu's pain, but she also couldn't change who she was and what she wanted. All she could do was hope that Lulu would find happiness, with or without her.

"I understand, Lulu,"

Kyoko whispered, her voice filled with regret.

" You're right, you deserve better. Just know that I value our friendship, regardless of what happens."

Kyoko, with her mission unaccomplished, left Lulu's apartment only to bump into Bae walking out of the elevator as she walked into it. They did not acknowledge each other but Kyoko held the lift to see where she was headed out of curiosity.
