Being that Kyoko's parents had asked to extend the twins visit for at least another week, Anele decided to invite her brother out to lunch. They had not seen much of each other due to their busy schedules. Which they had before but now that the twins spent most of their free time with Kyoko, there was no excuse for the siblings to see each other during the week or on weekends she had to work.
" I hope he has a good reason for being late."
Anele mumbled to herself when she checked the time to find that he was fourth minutes late. Her brother, Musa, could never keep time. Their father would always tease him with that he would be late for his own funeral one day. While she on the other hand always kept time, she made sure to always arrive earlier than the intended time.
" Don't look at me like that, it's not my fault this time. Your sister in-law here has trouble finding something that fit and that she liked enough to wear."
He brother explained before she could scold him, while his heavily pregnant fiancée smiled sheepishly next to him. Anele gave them both hugs and kisses on the cheeks before sitting down. The waitress walked over and took their orders.
" You really handed over my niece and nephew so you can galavant around town like a childless wo_Ouch!!"
Musa cried out when Sydney nudged him with her elbow in his stomach and smiled apologetically at Anele.
" It's okay Sydney, he has said worse and yes I did that so I can finally have some me time. They're related to them anyway plus I've raised those two on my own for six years, I deserve some me time too."
Anele
" You raised them alone, Sydney, Bae and I are basically invisible."
Musa
" You know what I mean Musa and I don't understand why you're mad when you're the one who used to tell me to sue Kenji for child support."
Anele
" Yeah but I didn't say abandon them to the Himuras. Those people are evil and you don't want your children growing up around them, they just might be plotting to take them away from you."
Anele had considered that possibility but she trusted that Kyoko would not let them do that.
" Nice to know what you really think of us Musa."
Kyoko appeared from behind the couple. Dressed in a mauve three piece suit that caused everybody to stare in her direction. Kyoko demanded attention when she walked into any space and being a Himura, she commanded respect just by existing.
" It is the truth..."
Musa turned to Anele.
" I thought you said it would be just us having lunch?"
Musa looked at their guest with contempt, he hated the Himuras for what they had done to his sister and was mad at his sister for not listening to him the first time he told her to stay away from the family.
" I was in a meeting and saw her come in, thought I should come say hi."
Kyoko replied as she kissed the cheek of an uncomfortable Anele. Kyoko always knew Anele's brother did not like her of her family and she could not wait to show him that they had reconciled.
" I've got another meeting to head to, I'll see you later babe."
This time Kyoko kissed her on the lips, just a simple peck and felt triumphant when she saw the anger on Musa's face.
" You can forgive her but you can't give mom and dad the same courtesy. What the fuck Anele!"
" Musa!"
Sydney
An angry Musa stood up and starred down at his sister. Who was a full five years younger than him.
" I've warned you multiple times about them but you keep going back to them. If they hurt you this time, don't come crying to me."
