Hae could still smell Anele's perfume as she sat in her parents home playing with her sister's children. Her parents had invited her over for dinner and she had come over after Anele had left the office. Even though she apologised for kissing her, Hae did not mean it, she had always wanted to do that but held herself back. Today she lost all control after months of keeping her emotions under control.

" Who is she?"

Hae looked up at her brother confused.

" Your mind has been elsewhere since you got here and you've been smiling while staring in the abyss since you got here. The kids also left you alone thirty minutes ago but you're still playing."

Hae blushed, putting away the toys while her brother waited on her to finish up. She contemplated as she tidied up, stalling, if she should tell him about Anele.

" What have you done to me Anele."

Hae thought to herself, a mix of guilt and longing in her heart. She couldn't help but feel drawn to Anele, despite knowing that pursuing a relationship with her was wrong. It was an internal struggle that consumed her, and now her brother's question forced her to confront it.

" You can stall all you want, I'm not going anywhere."

Taking a deep breath, Hae looked up at her brother and mustered the courage to respond honestly.

"Her name is Anele,"

she admitted quietly.

"but she's with someone else...she's in a relationship."

Hae's voice trembled slightly, unsure of how her brother would react. Her brother's face softened, understanding the weight of her words.

"Hae, love can be complicated. Sometimes, our hearts lead us down unexpected paths but it's important to consider the consequences of our actions."

He gently placed a hand on her shoulder, conveying both support and concern. Hae nodded, grateful for her brother's understanding.

"I know, I just...can't seem to get her out of my mind,"

she confessed, her voice barely above a whisper.

"Every time I see her, every time I smell her perfume, it's like my heart can't resist her."

Her brother sighed, a mix of empathy and worry crossing his face.

"Hae, you deserve someone who can fully give themselves to you. Pursuing a relationship with someone who is already committed may only bring heartache and complications."

Tears welled up in Hae's eyes as she considered her brother's words. She knew deep down that he was right, but her heart ached for Anele. She had to find a way to let go, to move on from this impossible love.

" Part of me is ready for the heartache and complications."

Hae admitted, her voice filled with vulnerability.

" but another part of me knows that I deserve someone who can love me fully and unconditionally. I don't want to settle for less than that."

Her brother squeezed her shoulder reassuringly, understanding the inner turmoil she was experiencing.

"Hae, it takes a lot of strength to let go of someone you feel so strongly about but sometimes, the bravest thing we can do is to choose ourselves and our own well-being."

Hae nodded, trying to absorb her brother's words of wisdom. She knew that deep down, she needed to let go of Anele.

"I know you're right,"

she whispered, tears streaming down her face.

"but it's going to be so hard to move on from her."

Her brother pulled her into a comforting embrace.

"I'm here for you, Hae,"

he murmured, his voice full of love and understanding.

" I never meant for this to happen, but... I can't help how I feel."

Her brother was surprised by her laughing.

" What's funny is that I'm going through a heartbreak from a relationship I've never had."

She laughed through her tears , a bittersweet sound that conveyed both the pain and absurdity of her situation.
