" As soon as we left the hospital, my parents had questions for him but I had figured it out, he was talking about the baby you said was his. The pregnancy he denied. After such a long time he remembered of your existence, while I on the other hand have always thought about you. Felt guilty for what I did to you, felt guilty for how I treated you.."
As true as this was, Kyoko was also trying to soften her heart. For Anele to see things from her perspective, maybe if she told her of her own suffering Anele would be more forgiving towards her.
" You know when he finally told my parents the truth, he omitted the fact that it was a rape, he said it was consensual but I knew better. He would not fool me a se ons time but as usual my parents believed him. Even after finding out he lied, they did not reprimand him, they just went about looking for you."
As much as Anele was impatient and felt she was not getting to the point, she still stayed quiet. Hoping Kyoko would say something that would make her understand why she lied to her. Stupid in love, always hoping for better when the truth is staring at you in the face.
" They tried to get me to help them find you but I refused and had Aiko look for you for me instead. Hoping that I could get to you first and hide you but my parents found you first. Accidentally at that."
" I thought they came into the restaurant looking for me?"
Kenji shook her head as she sat down in front of her.
" They just happened to walk into the restaurant you were working in and twisted the tale to make it seem like they were looking. After my family chased you and your parents out of our yard, they're severed any forms of communication they had with your parents and all we could find out was that you loved to a different country. We didn't know you were an hour and a half away."
Anele had actually moved here a year after her twins were born, her parents sent her away to a school five hours from their old home. She moved to be closer to her parents for the next year she was starting college and would need help from her brother. Her parents volunteered after they found out Musa was taking of them.
" Your parents had said they would send you to Yargo-"
" Why would my parents tell you where they were sending me?"
As far as Anele knew, her parents did not keep in contact with any of the Himura's. Kyoko scooted her chair to sit right in front of her, where she held her hands. Anele's heart dropped before Kyoko could speak she understood.
" You're the one who gave them the money to afford to send me to Yargo, to that pregnant girls school."
Anele removed Kyoko's hands from hers.
" I should have know they were lying about having to take money from their savings but I did think your mother was their benefactor."
Anele's emotions overlapped each other as she found herself laughing through her tears. Kyoko sat looking at her not sure how to react.
" I don't know what's worse, that they took your money and did as told by a child or that you hated me so much you wanted me gone when I did anything to you or your family."
Kyoko got down on her knees in front of Anele, grabbing her hands. Anele struggled to release herself from her hold
" Babe believe me when I say that I did it for your protection. Maybe I shouldn't have gone about it..."
