" It took everything in me not to speak my true thoughts because I don't get how she can easily just allow him the kids to spend days with him alone when she had a daughter."
" I'm no fan of Kenji but I don't think he would hurt his own child."
" I doubt he would harm his children, only because he knows what's at stake but the point is Anele shouldn't have any contact with Kenji. Especially letting him into our home."
Aiko looked at her friend with surprise, surprised by her referring to Anele's apartment as "our".
" I didn't know y'all co owned the apartment."
" Shut the fuck up Aiko, you know what I mean. She's wrong and she shouldn't have had meetings with Kenji or took a decision without involving me first."
" Well if you ask me-"
" Nobody asked you Aiko!"
Aiko was used to her friend's rude outbursts and never took it personal. Kyoko's reaction was always to shout and scream when she did not have control. She also paced around like she was currently doing as they sat in her office.
" This is a serious situation that is a threatening to my relationship with Anele and you're making jokes about it instead of helping me."
" Well you could just come clean to Anele about everything."
" Go home Aiko!"
Kyoko did not mean that but she was frustrated with the situation, her feelings towards her brother and the possibility that he might ruin her relationship with Anele.
" I'm not the enemy and you know the only way you can defeat your brother, if what you think he has planned is the reality, is by telling Anele everything and I mean everything."
" You know I can't do that. She'll hate me, she'll never ever want to see me again. It was hard enough getting her back this time, I don't think I can win her back the third time. Especially if she knows everything."
The Himuras were known for being ruthless and untrustworthy, a lot of toes had been stepped on by her and her family to get to where they are today and Anele was one of the few people who made her feel human. One who did not judge her for her decisions but the truth would change all that.
" There's just too much at stake Aiko, I swear our surname is a case. To think so once thought I'd be different from the rest of my family members."
Kyoko chuckled to herself, growing up she knew the things her family did because as a family they don't hide anything from each other. As soon as she turned sixteen she was exposed to how the Himuras did business.
" I just can't come clean yet."
" Well my friend, there's really nothing I can do to help you. You know I'm for you being honest to save yourself the stress you're currently in but you never listen to me."
Kyoko kissed her teeth. She did not know why she even vents to Aiko because she always gave the same advice. She grabbed her phone and walked out of the office, not caring if Aiko stayed or left.
" Hope we didn't keep you waiting?"
Dara said getting into the car with Dae behind her. For this first time that day, Kyoko smiled. To think when she first met the twins, she felt she could never love them because they were Kenji's children.
" No honey, I haven't been waiting long. How was school?"
The twins went on to share how their day went, they talked all the way to Anele's place of work, Kyoko was grateful for the distraction as it kept her mind off Kenji. Who she would kill if he ever tried to take her family away from her.
