Ahana

"What is it?" glancing at all of them I asked

I sensed when I entered the house that something was weird today, but I couldn't point out what.

"Dadi wants the two of you to get married" Aryan blurt out

"What?" I shrieked and with a side glance I saw Ahaan wince

"Yes, she just wants you two to be happy" Aryan looked us dead in the eyes

"And How is getting married going to make us happy?" I seethed

"Exactly Dadi" Ahaan looked as perplexed as me

And then I realized Aryan told me he was getting married to someone else from the office.

"Yes Dadi, and yesterday only Aryan told me that Mr. Malhotra is getting married to someone from the office he likes" Saying this upfront left a bitter taste in both my heart and mouth.

"What..." Ahaan eyes went wide like soccer and he gave me a look. He looked at Aryan. "Who is this girl I like getting married to? Aryan, care to explain to everyone?" He sounds amused but the look in his eyes says otherwise.

He is infuriated very much

"Bhai..." Aryan paused and glanced at Dadi, she gave a nod and then again, he looked at Ahaan.

"Yes...continue I also want to know who is this girl I like and not only that I am ready to get married, tell us Aryan" Ahaan angled himself so that now he was at eye level with Aryan

"Bhai...Ahana...the girl I was talking about is you, Ahana...Dadi ..." he glanced at Dadi to help because the way Ahaan was looking at him, if it were possible, he would have eaten him alive by now.

"Yes... Dadi..." Ahaan angled himself towards Dadi

"Yes, the thing is as you know your parents had been best friends for years" Dadi's face fell and at this moment she looked way older than a few hours ago.

"Yes...what does it have done with our marriage Dadi" I plead

She holds Ahaan hand and puts it over mine and holds it together in hers, and the moment his hand touched mine the same spark ran through my whole body even in this tense moment

she got lost in the moment she was about to tell us, "Kartik, Anika, and Divya were best friends since college, and when Kartik and Anika got into the relationship the three of them decided that when they going to have a child they would marry them to each other" A tear escaped her eyes

She held our hand tightly "and then when Ahan was born it was confirmed that if Divya had a daughter first, she would marry Ahaan" A laugh broke out of her like there was something really funny in that particular moment she was talking about.

"What is it Dadi, why are you laughing?" Aryan asked

"Ohh, it's nothing, just remembering those days" She wiped off the tears and looked at us with hope-filled eyes.

Before knowing the story, it was easy to reject the idea but now when there is an emotional story behind her idea, I just don't know how to deal with it. I peeked at Ahaan for help but he looked lost.

"Are you going to fulfill your parents' wish" she squeezed our hands

Silence filled the garden, no one spoke, I didn't know what to say, and Ahaan looked lost somewhere

"Dadi give us a moment" Ahaan spoke suddenly which made everyone jump a little on their seats.

"Us..." Aryan Asked

"You are not going to beat the shit out of me, are you bhai?" Aryan makes a puppy face

"Not now, Aryan" Ahaan snapped

"Ok, take your time beta" Dadi stood up and started walking towards the house and Aryan followed her. I was about to stand up when Dadi's voice came "his us meant you and him, Ahana" I swear I could hear a smile in her voice.

The way she said it made me blush, if not for the light red would have been evident on my cheeks which might have been spread to my neck.
