Epilogue
Ahaan👑
"Please Angel, once more, Just this once" I keep whispering gentle and encouraging words standing beside my Wife who is delivering our baby. She glared at me.
I swear to god when I heard her cry out in pain with her push I almost fainted. During the whole pregnancy, we endured everything together the pain I couldn't take I tried to be there for her even if she needed to vent her anger out on me using me as a punching bag or using my shoulder to cry. Every moment I fell more in love with her.
"Just one more push Mrs. Malhotra" The nurses and doctor encouraged her. I held her hand all the time, with every push she dug her nail in my hand I am sure she left a mark. And I love every second of it. I will tattoo those scars with a star to show my respect and love for this woman who is my world.
"You can do it, Angel," Keeping her hair aside which got stuck to her forehead due to sweat I whispered.
"Ughhhh...If you say another word I will kill you. I wish You husbands could feel at least some amount of pain we women feel during delivery." She said glaring at me.
Kissing her knuckles I meant every word I said, "I wish I could share your pain angel. But I promised you that I would share every responsibility with you. Didn't I?"
Before she could reply, a heart-wrenching scream left her and her eyes rolled back. For a moment there was pin-drop silence in the room my heart went heavy but then cries and sobs filled the room.
My baby girl was crying in the arm of the doctor who was tying her umbilical cord. My wife was sobbing happy tears flowing her eyes and disappearing in her hair and soaking the pillows.
I kissed her knuckles, then her forehead, and pecked her lips. "Congratulations Mrs. Malhotra, we became Mumma-Papa." She smiled at me Bringing our joined hands to her lips she kissed them, "Congratulations Mr. Malhotra," her voice hoarse due to crying and screaming for hours, and another tear escaped her eyes, "We became Mumma-Papa" We were in our moments when I heard the doctor, "Mr. Malhotra, would you like to do the honor" She was holding our baby girl still intact with her umbilical cord and a nurse was holding scissor in her hand. For a few seconds, I stood there not understanding what they were trying to say, and then my wife nudged me I understood.
I walked towards my daughter whose soft cries were still feeling the room. The doctor held my baby girl and the nurse gave me the scissors. God! She is so tiny. Her body is still covered in blood as she hasn't been cleaned yet, She is a replica of her mother. I held her little fist in my hand, and with trembling hands, I cut the umbilical cord, "Welcome to the world my baby girl" I whispered to her and kissed her forehead.
After cleaning my baby girl, a nurse returned with her wrapped up in a cloth. The nurse instructed Ahana to open the first few buttons of her gown and then put the baby on her chest.
The doctor left the room instructing the nurse to initiate the first breastfeeding process in a few minutes.
I kissed both my wife and my little angel and left the room to inform Dadi, Aryan, Mira, and Reyan about the good news.
Ahana👑
"You are so beautiful little Angel," I whispered to my baby girl as she held my finger in a tight grip and latched onto my nipple for her first feeding.
God! She is so tiny, her little fingers, hands, and feet are like a cute miniature of a human version. The little button-like nose and the beautiful eyes which is just like her father full of love staring at me.
