Chapter 74
Ahaan
Ahaana's hand on mine is what allows me to keep my emotions in control. We just stared at him. It could be a minute or maybe ten who cares but the moment he opened his mouth pointing towards Ahana made my blood boil, all hell broke with his words, "You... you...look...fam...familiar." he was
In another moment, I was in Rana's face, "You dared to think bad about what's mine." I hissed, I was holding him by his throat but his gaze didn't waver from my Angel. He is still looking at her.
I know that his stares are making her uncomfortable. Squeezing his neck a bit harder I barked on his face, "So you didn't see her face before giving the order to kill my wife? Haan!"
The way he is still staring at her confirms my suspicion that the bastard was so desperate to get his daughter married to me that he didn't even take a look at Ahana's Face. Foolish Idiot, that's what he is.
We decided not to tell him who Ahana was other than the information he was already aware of. I squeezed a bit more not enough to cut his air but enough that he struggled for his other breathe. My body vibrates with anger and in another moment Reyaan removed my hand from Rana's throat. "We have to talk to him first." Reyaan seethed.
Holding my hand in a death grip he dragged me to Ahana who was still standing where I left her. She threaded our fingers and gave it a warming squeeze. She is the only reason he is still alive. I don't care what happens to me if I kill him now. After a few deep breaths, as my wife instructed me with her eyes, I felt a little normal but not enough to kill the urge not to smash his face into the nearby wall.
Rana just stared at Ahana, after his one sentence he didn't utter a word. But Ahana's question made him smirk. The bastard literally thinks he looks cool or better dangerous with his smug smirk but for us, he looks like someone about to ruin his own life.
Ahana stays silent, so Uncle Verma takes the lead and starts questioning, "Why did you want to kill Ahana?"
Rana Stays silent, still staring at Ahana. There was a flicker of recognition in his eyes. His silence has started all of us. "Why did you want to kill Ahana?" Uncle Verma's voice boomed in the room. I have never seen him this angered.
Finally, the bastard snapped, "Isn't it obvious or did Mr. Malhotra not tell you about it?" finally moving his gaze from Ahana he glared at me.
"I didn't ask him the question, did I?" Uncle's sarcasm was on point and after a moment of silence, he glared at Ahana and seethed, "I wanted him to marry my daughter. I could have handed over my business in Paris to him after marriage but he chose this bit**..." before he could have finished the word I was at his throat and squeezed it hard. My body vibrates with the anger I am feeling now. "Don't you dare finish that word, You are talking about my wife. Bastard." All I want right now is for him to be dead, damn the rule and law.
Ahana immediately came to my side before I could kill him. She lovingly placed her hand on my shoulder and tried to remove my hand from his neck. She whispered in my ear, "Please, for my sake. We cannot give him such an easy death."
I removed my hand from his neck but I was still seething with anger. Ahana held my hand and came and stood in a corner of the room where a chair was kept. She gently stroked the pulse of my hands and then she went and sat on that chair.
she sat there authoritatively, the power that is oozing right now out of my wife is damn hot. I can't remove my eyes from her. My anger at Rana changed into pride for my wife.
She asked calmly, but I knew better than that what she was feeling now.
Ahana's POV
After knowing the truth about how my sperm donor that's what I would like to call him because he was not more than that, backstabbed my mother and betrayed her. If I ever thought that I disliked or hated that man, I was wrong because when this man is sitting in front of me today, I feel disgusted by his mere presence.
People used to say that I looked like my Mumma and before coming here I was afraid that he might recognize me and then maybe he try to change the truth. I don't trust this snake-like man at all. But even after staring at me for so long, when this man has not recognized me, I feel that my path is easy now. Because in the end, he will know the truth.
"So, is there any reason, why you desperately wanted to marry your daughter to Mr. Malhotra.?" I repeated my question when instead of answering he just stared at me.
His calm and nonchalant facade wavered showing I hit the right nerve. The way Ahaan, Reyaan, and Uncle Verma were staring at me, I understood nobody questioned his desperation to get his daughter married to Ahaan.
Rana is tied tightly to the chair but still, he tries to shift a little showing he never thought people would question his desperation.
Looking at his discomfort I fired another question in the darkness, "Rana, is it possible that you have something to do with Mr. Malhotra's parent's accident?"
I fired this question in the pitch black darkness but the way Rana stuttered "Wh...wha...What...are...yo...you...talk...talking...about...?", I guess I hit the right nerve.
The way Rana's voice faltered upon hearing this question, everyone's eyes widened. Everyone stared at Rana first and then at me. I sat there calmly knowing shit is about to go in the right direction.
Ahana held Rana's gaze, the silence crackling with tension. Ahaan, Reyaan, and Uncle Verma exchanged nervous glances, their initial shock at Ahana's accusation morphing into something else – Anger, hope, and shock. The facade of Rana had carefully constructed was crumbling.
The silence in the room was thick enough to cut with a knife. Rana's eyes darted around the room, landing on each person's face before finally settling back on me. Sweat beaded on his forehead, glinting in the faint light filtering through a crack in the makeshift blindfold.
A low growl rumbled from Ahaan's chest. "Answer her, Rana. What does she mean about my parents' accident?" His voice was laced with a dangerous edge.
Rana swallowed hard. "I... I don't know what she is talking about," he stammered, but the tremor in his voice betrayed him.
Reyaan, who had been unusually quiet throughout the interrogation, spoke up. "Ahana, what makes you think Rana is involved?"
Ignoring Reyaan for now, I kept my gaze locked on Rana. "The desperation to get your daughter married to Ahaan, the unease at being questioned about it, the stutter when I mentioned the accident - it all points towards something fishy, Rana. Now, are you going to tell us the truth, or do I hand over this job to Reyaan and Ahaan to pry it out of you bit by bit?"
Reyaan and Ahaan are now angered bulls, tied with leashes waiting to be unleashed.
Rana's face contorted in a snarl. "Lies! Absolute slander! You have no proof." His bravado was slipping, replaced by a frantic desperation.
A faint smile played on my lips. "Proof is exactly what I intend to find. But for now, your reaction speaks volumes."
