Adoration
The way you smile
as I run my fingers through
your hair
your heartbeat in my lap
your breath in my ears
your sighs in my lungs
Contentment
fingers grazing
lips exchanging
blankets shared
Peaceful
murmers of a screen
music in my eyes
whispers in my soul
smells in my mind
Powerful
searing on my tongue
sickness in my veins
tears in my heart
blood on my chest
things fell apart
Wonder
knowledge after hours
strings have snapped
do not say the words
that you can never take back
Who are you?
Who are we?
Am I you?
Or are you me?
flowing in the balance
hearts shaped with time
foundations remain
mending souls intertwined
Sea
Where are we going?
What comes now?
look beyond the shoreline
cast your net anew
post yourself vertical
washed colors have different hues
Hope
rains are skittering away
salt has been laid down
green has retreated
to far better towns
Love
blossoms have survived
this harsh winter
petals soft
and ready for growth
concrete cracks
where beauty is needed the most
Seasons
strong winds
high tides
walks along the road
grace is found in chaos
others create stone
Forest
overgrown roots
new life emerge
water has sunken down
and fed neglected earth
Chapter
letters into words
words, a sentence
novels created you and I
this tale doesn't have an ending
Watch
write my love to the world
given enough time
series have been published
fixing errors along the way
edit the good parts together
lose unnecessary fat
engage the readers
through tragedy and tit for tat
employ a team of beasts
who feast upon the blossoms
lest they know how to appreciate
the finer points of literature
Road
forsake the stylistic choice
of using stereotypes
tread the tables lightly
hold my hand tight
pray we reach the end
of this rabbit hole
finding the correct path
dancing through the fires
and learning how to be
the correct size
and a little mad.
