the ultimatum

the message request

It was roughly after 7pm Friday night, everyone was clocking out of work however Tim was still sat in his small box office signing his signature each piece of paper from a large pile of reports.

He was exhausted from a long 12 hour shift he's had, his eyes felt heavy he felt like he could just fall into a sleep slumber any second, he couldn't wait to get home to curl up in bed with Lucy and sleep all night and all day tomorrow as the pair of them had the day off.

He yawned and grabbed his lukewarm coffee from the side of him hoping he will get a caffeine rush to help him finish these papers. He filled out a few more until his phone pinged, he smiled thinking it was Lucy probably asking him to bring home take out or run to the grocery store or something.

He pulled out his phone and saw it was a message request on instagram. He raised his eyebrows and clicked on it, it was Ashley?

He read the message in shock and confusion, his tiredness immediately disappeared...he couldn't get his head around it first he had to re read it about five times- his whole body was shaking.

'hey Tim..it's me Ashley..well you could probably tell because of my username anyway I know it's been three and a half years since I left you and last contacted you and I'm sorry for breaking up with you straight after surgery, but I've finally built up the courage to message you, sorry for not contacting sooner.

You have three year old twins girl and boy, Avalynn Elisabeth Bradford, and Arlo James  Bradford. They are 100% your kids, you can even do a paternity test if you don't believe me, they look exactly like you. They are getting to the age where they are starting pre school and day care and they are wanting to know where their daddy is because all the other children has daddy's. I've done it all on my own ever since I was sat in my father's bathroom floor with a positive pregnancy test a few weeks after we..well I broke up with you. I was going to tell you..but I saw you were dating Lucy and I knew from the start that was going to happen and I didn't want to ruin your relationship because of our kids. But now I'm starting to struggle to be a single mother, as you may of heard my dad passed not to long ago and I really need support and my babies need their dad.

I don't want to give you an ultimatum but it's either us or Lucy, I don't want another woman in their lives, and we are now living up San Francisco- I know it's a good five hour drive away from
Mid Wilshire. I am so sorry for not telling you and making you miss the firsts of everything but you can make it up to them by being a dad now, like I said in the hospital it would take ages to stop loving you meaning in which I still love you now Tim Bradford. Please get back to me I completely understand if you don't get back to me and you decide to stay at mid Wilshire with Lucy..just think about it xx'
