the ultimatum

on the road

Tim was already on the road for about an hour and a half, he already had over 20 missed calls from Angela, Lucy, and Sargent grey.

he was about to block everyone's contact numbers but a voice mail came through from Lucy, he wasn't sure if he should listen to it.

He put his indicator on and pulls over to the side of the highway. He picks up his phone and listens to the voicemail Lucy left him.
'Tim baby..please just come back- I need you, you- just left me..didn't even say goodbye..I thought we were it for each other..we were meant to have kids and have a family..if you just explained we could have arranged something..you know what Tim your a shitty person a very shitty shitty person your exactly like Isabelle and I hope your kids know how shitty you are!'

Tim listened to the voice mail and he shut his phone off and shut his eyes tight..what the fuck has he done..? It's too late to turn back now..his eyes filled up with tears, he frustratedly punched the steering wheel the horn beep multiple times then he purposely hit his head off it and started sobbing..

His kids need their dad, he doesn't want to be a fuck up like his dad- and he's always wanted to be a dad..but Lucy's right- he's like Isabelle, running off..leaving her..but Lucy has people to help her back up there, she has the whole of mid Wilshire..Ashley has no support and she is a single mother with a two kids and they are his kids so he should be with her helping her..being a parent.

He wipes his eyes and he clicks on Lucy's contract and presses 'block contact' he does the same with everyone at the station.

This is his new life now..in San Francisco with his kids. He pulls back onto the highway and carries on driving.

Ashley gave Tim an ultimatum it's not as if he'll pick Lucy and leave Ashley and his kids to suffer and struggle and miss out on having a dad?? Lucy has support and they don't.

He drives for a few hours..his mind just thinking about how sad Lucy will be..he promised her the world then just left her..he knows he's a shitty person and he won't ever ever forgive him self.

But it's too late to turn back, she'll be fine- Lucy's strong she's a fighter.

He's drove for about 4 hours straight before he started hearing his stomach grumble, he sighs and pulls off the highway into a service station and buys a few snacks, a coffee and a bottle of water.

He munches them in his truck before setting off again, then he realised he doesn't even know Ashley's address..

He powers his phone back on and calls Ashley.
"hey Tim" she answers straight away.
"hey ash, I'm about an hour away. I've just realised I don't know your address " Tim chuckles
"oh fuck, yeah I'll send it now" Ashley chuckles too, she puts Tim on speaker and types the address and sends it to Tim.

Tim's phone buzzes "ah it's came through, how was the kids this morning" Tim asks putting the phone on speaker and placing it on the phone holder so he can drive and look at the directions to Ashley's and talk to Ashley at the same time.

"they were great! they are excited to see you they've been asking about you" Ashley says happily, Tim smiles
"I can't wait to see them either, what time do they finish preschool?" Tim asks pulling back onto the highway.

"around 3, it's 12:30 now so you'll be heee for pick up if you want to come?" Ashley offers, Tim's eyes brighten up to the idea.
"yeah! I'll come, it'll be a nice surprise for them!" Tim exclaims happily getting excited.
"they would be so happy! I'm free if you want me to stay on the phone and talk?" Ashley asks too nicely.. what is she up to.?

"sure I mean it's better than being on my own." Tim shrugs.
"what are doing with work then?" Ashley asks starting conversation.
"shit..I didn't even think about that" he sighs.

"why don't you apply to be like a security guard at the mall or something" Ashley suggests and Tim sighs
"Maybe"

"What's going on with Lucy..why did you leave so soon?" Ashley asks curiously
"Hmmm I'll tell you over a bottle of vodka and tequila" Tim chuckles
"don't worry I have them in already, we can chat all night when the kids are in bed" Ashley suggest
"sounds like a plan" Tim agrees smiling..maybe it won't be so bad.
