Lucy arrives at the small private clinic Angela booked her in for, she signs in and takes a seat in the waiting room.

She knows she should really be here with Tim or someone else, but she wants to suprise Tim and make it special.

She flicks through emails, socials and messages for a bit until a nurse called.
"Lucy?" She shouts and Lucy stands up and follows her.

"I'm doctor lily, Angela told me you are pregnant with a little one" she says softly as the walk into the room.
"Yeah, kind of a shock to be honest"Lucy chuckles and dr lily smiles brightly
"Hey it'll be a shock for a while, but trust me being a mom and birthing a child, having a child of your own is the most beautiful thing" doctor lily replies flicking through notes.

"yeah, Angela said that too"Lucy replies softly rubbing her stomach.
"And she's right, she always is. Gosh that women is so stubborn. Anyway, can you sit on the bed for me while we go through questions" dr lily asks gesturing to the bed and Lucy smiles and jumps up.

"Is it just you?" She asks and Lucy nods
"Yeah, I want to surprise the father on Father's Day." Lucy replies and dr Lily looks at Lucy in awe.
"Should of brought Angela, I haven't seen her since she was pregnant with Jack, I speak to Patrice all the time however" dr lily responds.
"She's busy with work" Lucy replies.

"Ah. Okay let's get back to being professional shall we. First I'm going to need a urine and blood sample to make sure you are definitely pregnant and to do a few blood tests" she says Lucy nods, she withdraws some blood from Lucy and Lucy heads to the bathroom to do a quick urine sample, she hands them to the doctor and she sends them off to get tested.

"The pregnancy one shouldn't be that long, so let's just wait until the results come."she says, a few minutes later the results come and Lucy is 100% pregnant.

"okay just so we can figure out your due date and how far along you are do you remember your last menstrual period ?" She asks and Lucy sighs and takes a moment to think.
"Three ish months ago? I'm not sure..I usually have irregular periods anyway due to stress on the job" she answered, dr lily typed things out.

" do you have any past Miscarriages?" She asks and Lucy shook her head no.
"First pregnancy" she answered.
"Okay, I've just looked on your medical history it doesn't look like there is anything on there that'll risk you or your baby, further on in your next appointment I will like to look into the fathers and your family medical history to see if there will be any risks or genetic or hereditary diseases" she says and Lucy nods.

"Do you take any medication?" She asks and Lucy shakes her head no.
"Used to be on birth control but I stopped taking it" she admits and miss lily types stuff in.
"Great, okay let's get the machine started and see this baby shall we?" She says starting up the ultrasound and washing her hands and putting gloves on.

She then grabs the gel "can you please lift your shirt up, the gel may be abit cold"the doctor says, Lucy lifts her shirt up and the doctor puts on the gel and moves the ultrasound around on Lucy's stomach.

"awe there's your baby" she points to the little blob, Lucy smiles brightly, dr lily clicks a few buttons on the machine to check measurements and to see how far long she is.

"By the looks of it your roughly around 9 weeks pregnant, your baby is the size of a strawberry. It's looking healthy and growing at a perfect rate but you have to remember that the first trimester of your pregnancy and miscarriages are a huge risk,I've read your files and your a cop, take all the quiet easy calls, nothing major to risk you or the baby. Let's listen to the heart beat" she says softly and turning the heart beat.

Lucy's eyes swelled up with tears, her heart melts..this is hers and Tim's baby..she is growing their little baby..
Lucy was speechless and in shock, she was just zoned out smiling at the ultrasound then the doctor suddenly gave Lucy three copies of the ultrasound.
"Congratulations momma" she says softly and Lucy smiles.

"Okay, I've booked you back in for 4 weeks time to get another scan, you would have officially entered the second trimester by then, and I'm assuming you will be bringing the father?" She asks and Lucy nods "yeah"

"Okay well right now you should experiencing mood swings, sickness, tiredness, tender and sore breasts, new likes and dislikes to food and drinks, cramping it'll probably feel abit like period pains" she says and Lucy just nods, she was totally out of words this whole appointment she doesn't know what to say at all..she was just in shock. They talk and Lucy answers some more questions.

Miss lily picks up some leaflets on what to do while pregnant, pregnancy advice etc and hands them to Lucy.
"anything you think is concerning please call up, if you start spotting or bleeding come and see a doctor asap" she says as she walks Lucy out.

Lucy walks to her car, she couldn't believe it..she's having a BABY! A real baby! She sits there in the car and looks at the three ultrasound photos and her eyes become glossy and cloudy with happy tears, she smiles.
She hides the paperwork and the photos under her seat in the car and she drives to the station.

She arrives at the station and heads straight in, she changes and goes straight to greys office.

She stands at the door and knocks, grey looks up from his paperwork and takes his glasses off "hey Chen, where were you this morning?" Grey asks gesturing her to come in.
"Oh shoot- baby brain, forgot to call in" she replies and greys eyes widen
"You're pregnant?" He asks growing a smile on his face, Lucy tears up and smiles and nods
"I am" she replies a few tears falling down her face.

Grey leaps up from his seat and gathers the younger officer in his arms "congratulations Chen" he says softly and happily.
"Thanks sarg, yeah that's really why I came in is to tell you"she says sniffling and wiping her tears, grey passes her a tissue and she thanks him.
"Gosh hormones" she rolls her eyes and grey scoffs a laugh.

"Take it it's Tim's, does he know? Gosh he's going to be over the moon" grey asks excitedly.
"He doesn't know yet, I'm telling him on Father's Day..which is where I need you involved. Obviously it's Father's Day the day after tomorrow, I need you to make him work late tomorrow just like lie about a case or something. So I can just get things sorted" she pleads and grey smiles.
"Of course anything Lucy! I'm over the moon for you guys! You two have came so far after everything with Ashley, I'm so glad everything is coming back together" he replies.

"Thanks sarg" she thanks him gratefully.
"Anything Chen, does the twins know?" He asks and Lucy bursts into laughter.
"I tried to tell them this morning, they just kept asking if I'm growing it like a plant or if I've ate a baby." She chuckles and grey joins  her.
"I have a feeling the twins will be great siblings" grey responds and Lucy agrees.

"Thanks grey, I'm going to head out on patrol for an hour and meet Tim and Angela and Aaron for lunch" she replies and grey stops her.
"Only low risk calls Chen or I'll place you on desk" he shouts and Lucy sticks her thumb up and walks off.
