the ultimatum

thats the one!

"Thanks wade..for just being here, forgiving me..supporting me..knocking sense into me. I needed it." Tim says as wade walks Tim out, they ended up grabbing burgers and a few beers and watched the game.
"Tim anytime. Day or night. I see you as my son..and I've been worried about you. So don't even thank me Tim." Grey says softly and Tim smiles..it was the first genuine smile since before he went to San Francisco to ask Ashley for parental rights.

"Well I suppose I will see you in two days as tomorrow I'm spending the day planning the proposal and finding a therapist." Tim says and grey nods.
"I'm proud of you Tim. Like really." Grey responds..Tim didn't realise how much he needed to hear that..

"Thanks sarge. See you." Tim smiles and leaves, he has abit of a slow stroll home just thinking.

It was hitting 11:45PM when he finally got home. He unlocked the door and slowly and quietly stepped in. It was quiet and dark, everything was turned off which gave tim the indication that everyone was in bed.

He quietly took his shoes and jacket off and locked the door, he walked in and went into the kitchen and grabbed himself a bottle of water and took a huge gulp of it and sighed. He made sure all the windows were locked and shut and checked on the twins kissing each of them on the forehead and shutting their doors.

He takes a deep breath before stepping into his and Lucy's shared room to find Lucy also fast to sleep. He smiles softly and grabs clothes from the closet and has a quick shower, he then cleans his teeth, and puts a few face creams and serums on before coming back into the bedroom in boxers.

when he walked into the bedroom he noticed Lucy awake on her phone, Tim froze "I didn't wake you up did I?" Tim panicked and Lucy smiles at Tim's concerned expression.
"yeah, I heard the shower turn on and you banging and crashing. But Tim it's fine, I was wanting to see you when you got home anyway" she replies softly pulling forward the comforter for Tim to climb into bed next to Lucy.

He climbs in and immediately pulls Lucy close to him.
"I'm sorry" he mumbles kissing Lucy's head, taking in the scent of her lavender shampoo.
"I'm sorry too." She says softly.
"I have the day off tomorrow. Grey says I need it, I was planning on going to run some errands" he says and Lucy hums.
"I'm going to try and get Grey to allow me back at work" she grumbles and Tim chuckles.
"He doesn't want you back there for a few days. Pamper your self Lucy, get your nails done, or your hair..or sleep all day..do something for you, for Lucy. Not for me, not for Ava, arlo and the baby. For you." Tim says and Lucy smiles and kisses Tim on the lips.
"I will do. You're a special one." She says softly.

"I love you" Tim mumbles against Lucy's lips.
"I love you more. So what did you and sir talk about" Lucy asks and Tim sighs and strokes her hair.
"He knocked sense into me to finally..finally ask for help." He admits and Lucy looks at him and cocks her head.

"Therapy help..grey has made me realise I've been through so much..a lot more than a someone can handle..my dad, military, Ashley, the abuse, being framed, court, laura, laura and Ryan, twins birthday, Ashley again, then you in hospital, everything is just getting too much for me i suppose"Tim expands and Lucy smiles softly.
"I'm proud of you. Really proud" Lucy smiles and Tim pulls Lucy even closer.
"You don't understand how much that means to me" he says quietly and Lucy just nods sympathetically.

"Twins okay after I stormed off like that?" He asks feeling guilty.
"Ava stayed asleep, I think she's exhausted or coming down with something. She's been awfully tired lately. And arlo wanted me to tell you he loves you." Lucy replies.
"they are good kids, thanks Lucy for taking care of my babies and taking them in like your own..I know they can be alot and-" Tim trails off and Lucy scoffs and cuts him off.
"You three are the best things in my life Tim, so stop rambling" Lucy laughs and Tim nods and his eyes slowly pull shut and they both fall into a slumber.

The next morning Tim got up before anyone's alarms set off, he glanced at the time 6:00AM. He sighs and kisses Lucy's head and slowly gets up.

He makes everyone pancakes, Lucy and the twins woke up. After they ate they get a the twins ready, they drop them off at preschool and Lucy goes out to get her nails done. Tim heads to town

He hates shopping with all his being, he can't stand it. There's people everywhere, no one watches where they go and it's so overcrowded.

He walks into a jewellery store and glances at all the glass cabinets that held jewellery.
"Can I help you sir?" A young woman came over smiling softly.
Tim glances at the rings again before looking back up and smiling
"Yeah. You can. I'm looking for a perfect engagement ring..I've already proposed to the girl before but I messed everything up..she got rid of the ring..we made up and I'm asking her to marry me again. I just need the right ring" Tim explains looking through the glass cabinets.

"Hmmm okay. What about this one" she points to a ring that had a  big bright beautiful diamond on it..
Tim frowns and scoffs "it looks like a rock." He mumbles.
"Okay. I take it as a no..what about that one there?" She asks pointing to a ring at had three small diamond stones on.
"No..that looks like her last engagement ring. It might bring back memories you know? I want a one that is more her..and different and out there" Tim says moving to a different cabinet, another customer came in.
"I'm going to help this customer, tell me if you find one and I'll name prices" she says politely and leaves to help the new customer.

Tim finds the one. It was a ring that had a moon stone diamond on it..it immediately reminds Tim of Lucy's ring that she wears everywhere. This. One. Is. The. One.

Tim waits for the lady to come back.
"have you found one?" She asks softly and Tim smiles and nods.
"I think I did..that one" he points and she smiles at Tim
"perfect! She'll love it! I'll get that ready for you, just collect it from counter and we will set a price" she says and grabs it and walks off.

Tim walks to the counter and smiles when the lady comes with it packaged in a velvet box and then puts it into a gift bag, they set a price and Tim pays.
"She's a lucky woman. Congratulations! here's a voucher to get it cleaned. Thank you for shopping with us" the lady says and Tim smiles and grabs the bag.
"Thanks" he says happily and walks out the store with a smile on his face, now he just needs to plan the real engagement.

He pulls out his phone and dials a number.
"Bradford I still have a bone to pick with you" Angela answers straight away and Tim laughs
"save it for another time. I need help planning my engagement" he replies getting into his truck relieved he came back from town alive.
