the ultimatum

Too soon

They pulled up into the parking garage after taking the twins to preschool.
"you sure your okay to go in?" Tim asks stopping the truck.
"yeah, Tim stop stressing I'm fine" Lucy replies grabbing her bag and getting out the truck.

Tim pulls the keys out the truck and follows Lucy into the station doors.
"I'm at court giving evidence today Lucy, so I won't be available all day. Are you sure you're okay?"Tim asks grabbing Lucy's arms to stop her from walking.
"Stop tim! I've told you multiple times I'm fine" Lucy snaps and walks off to change, Angela saw the interaction and approached Tim.

"What's going on between the two of you? You've only been back together for a bit and already arguing?" Angela sighs crossing her arms.
Tim shrugs "she's been acting off for a while. But whatever is going on is getting in between our relationship" Tim explains rubbing his face with his hands frustratedly.
"What do you mean she's been acting different?" Angela asks curiously, Tim sighs
"Moods been off, she's being weird with food, she's threw up multiple times including this morning..I just don't know" Tim stresses and Angela's eyes widened.

"Okay.." Angela nods slowly.
"What? What's wrong with her Angela? I'm not loosing her again!" Tim snaps and Angela sighs and puts a hand on Tim's arm.
"Trust me she's fine Tim, don't stress. Go to court and give evidence, do your thing okay?" Angela says shushing Tim and rushing him away.
"Keep an eye on her will you?" Tim asks and Angela nods.
"Will do, good luck in court" Angela smiles as tim walks to change into his suit.

Angela walks to the women's locker room where Lucy was fastening her uniform shirt.
"hey Lucy" Angela greets sitting on the benches in the middle of the aisle of lockers.
"hi"Lucy mumbles and Angela sighs.
"How's everything with you and Tim?" Angela asks and Lucy shrugs
"Great" Lucy answers and Angela furrows her brows
"doesn't sound it what's going on?" She asks and Lucy shrugs.

"Tim's been obsessive. Like he won't leave me alone just because I've threw up this morning, like gosh I've threw up multiple times in the past few weeks it's nothing new" Lucy snaps and Angela sighs and stands up and holds Lucy's hands.
"have you had a check up Lucy?" She asks softly and Lucy shakes her head.
"No" she admits and Angela sighs.
"Have you had your monthly" Angela asks and Lucy thinks for a bit and her eyes widen.

"I'm not pregnant!" Lucy snaps pulling out of Angela's grip.
"Lucy.." Angela sighs and Lucy puts her hand up to stop Angela.
"I'm not hearing it Angela. I'm not pregnant." Lucy snaps and walks out the locker room, I can't be pregnant, we haven't even been back together that long we haven't even spoke about babies Lucy thinks as she storms out.

Lucy kept going back to the conversation she had with Angela that morning during her shift, she can't be pregnant can she?

Lucy was on solo patrol, she answered a few quiet calls, she avoided Angela, she didn't want Angela to bite her ear off about possibly being pregnant, it's not that Lucy didn't  want to be pregnant and have children with Tim because of course she does..it's the fact Tim and Lucy hasn't brought the conversation up if kids since they've been together. And they've only been back together for some time and it's too soon for kids, especially as Tim has the twins and they are still young and a stress to look after.
Everything just feels too soon.
