the ultimatum

Congratulations momma!

Lucy was sat zoned out in the middle of doing paperwork when Tim came over.
"Hey luce you ready to go?" Tim says stood in his normal clothes clutching onto his backpack, Lucy was still in her uniform.

Lucy snaps back into it and looks at him and smiles "uh. I still have paperwork to do" she says motioning to the stack infront of her.
"Okay..well I'm heading to pick the twins up I'll see you later yeah?" Tim asks and bends down to give Lucy a kiss, Lucy smiles softly at him and kisses him back, then watches him walk off and she sighs.

She carries on filling out reports until Angela came over with a grocery bag, Lucy looked up and frowned.
"What's in there" Lucy grumbled, knowing she's been trying to avoid Angela.

"Look. It's better to know sooner or later so you and Tim can decide what to do. So there are pregnancy tests in there, chocolate and wine if it's negative. But if it's positive I'll keep the wine" Angela smiles and Lucy laughs.
"Thanks. But. If it's negative would I really want to celebrate it? And drink wine?" Lucy sighs leaning back in her chair and crossing her arms, Angela rolls her eyes.
"Fine it'll be my wine either way then. I just wanted to make an excuse to buy it" she mumbles back pulling the wine bottle out the bag and placing it in her hand bag.

"what if he doesn't want anymore kids though Angela..he's got the twins and they are abit of a handful already never mind the baby. We don't even live together and his house is too small for another room." Lucy explains getting stressed.
Angela pulls out a chair from another desk and rolls it over to Lucy and sits down on it.
"Stress isn't good for the baby." Angela comments and Lucy frowns.
"I might not even be pregnant." Lucy mumbles and Angela ignores her.
"I've known Tim for like what? Since the academy. He has always wanted dozens of kids, it's always been his dream. Lucy trust me, he will want this I promise, have you ever spoke about kids?" Angela explains and asks and Lucy shakes her head.

"I mean. We did before everything happened, he wanted a few kids with me, watch them grow up and have kids of their own-" Lucy trails off and Angela frowns
"So why are you so reluctant to find out?" She asks and Lucy shrugs
"I don't know to be honest. It's way too soon after everything" she replies fidgeting with her hands.

"It's not too soon if fate makes it. Come on Lucy you guys literally talked about grandkids on your first official date, come on Lucy just find out and test!! I need to know if I'm being an auntie again" Angela pleads and begs and Lucy sighs and smiles and picks up the bag Angela brought her.

"Thanks. For everything. Sorry for snapping this morning" Lucy says and brings Angela into a hug.
"Your welcome Chen. Come on you can take it at my place, unless you want to do it with Tim?" Angela says following Lucy.
"I'll take it at your place, I want to suprise him" Lucy says and Angela nods excitedly.

They head to Angela's, Wesley was at work and Jack was at Patrice's. Angela was sat outside the bathroom on the floor drinking red wine waiting for Lucy.

Lucy pulls the pregnancy test out the bag and her hands start shaking, her body becomes sweaty and nervous. She takes the test and walks outside the room and sits on the floor with Angela placing the test In front of them.

"If it's positive how you going to tell him?" Angela asks sipping wine, Lucy shrugs.
"I have a few ideas in mind" she smirks and Angela nods not asking what.

They sit there in silence "this is the longest fucking 4 mins in my life" Lucy groans leaning her head back and covering it with her hands.
"I'm fine. I'm just enjoying my wine" Angela shrugs and Lucy snaps her head to her.
"You're not the one who's testing to see if they're pregnant!" She snaps and Angela giggles.

They sit there and finally the alarm goes off.
"I can't look at it" Lucy says shaking her head, Angela places her wine glass on the floor.
"Do you want me to?" She offers and Lucy nods slowly, Angela picks up the test and flips it over..she gasps and her face slips into a wide smile and she drags Lucy in for a hug.
"congratulations momma!" Angela says squealing.
