How does your mommy treat you?

"How does your mommy treat you?" Wesley asks smiling softly at the kids to give them the comfort and confidence to answer.

Neither of them answered at first they just kept looking at eachother, Wesley leaned forward and grabbed each of their hands, he was careful with avalynns since she still had an iv in. "it's okay..you can tell me" he says softly.

"Mommy says we can't tell anyone" avalynn whispers..Wesley shakes his head
"You can tell me, you are so brave you guys, I promise everything will be okay" he explains in a soft voice.

Avalynn looks at arlo for permission and arlo nods softly.
"she is mean..she's horrible, she calls us names mean names and she hurts us" avalynn explains and Wesley's heart breaks for them..they don't deserve any of this- they look so small and innocent and vulnerable.
"What do you mean by hurting you?" He asks to get more information for evidence.

"She hits us..pulls our hair, pushes us, pinches us..Mommy also doesn't let us eat anything but horrible green vegetables" he says crossing his arms.
"oh gosh I am sorry you guys.." Wesley says feeling awful..and also realising a few bruises on their arms and that they are abit thin..why hasn't Tim done anything?!
"mommy is lying about daddy. lying is bad, mommy is bad. We want our daddy" arlo says softly.

"I am trying everything I can to get your daddy back to you two okay? I promise.." he says and both of the twins look at each other
"Pinky promise?" They both ask at the same Time and Wesley smiles brightly
"Promise" he says sticking out his pinky finger, they all do pinky promises and the twins feel comfortable and safe with Wesley.

"okay. I have one big question for you both."Wesley says and both of the twins eyes brighten, they were excited to be answering big questions.
"Yes?" They asks
"what happened yesterday?" He asks, arlo sat up fully.

"Daddy was making us dinner, it smelt good. Mommy was shouting at me, Ava told her not to hit me because she nearly did..mommy got mad at Ava and pushed her into wall and she fell to sleep, daddy saw it all and ran over and told mommy to call ambulance..mommy didn't want to she didn't move at all. So daddy started shouting at mommy..I never seen him shout before..but daddy was nice to me and told me to get Ava some teddy bears to make her feel safe- daddy and mommy were arguing and the doctors came" arlo explains happily swinging his legs off the bed,Wesley was amazed at how well he remembered what happened..it must of traumatised him, he turns the recorder off.

"I am so sorry guys..okay- you two are so brave, because your mommy and your daddy are being talked to by the police- and the police is trying to find out if your mommy was lying, you two have to be placed with a new family" Wesley explains in a soft way hoping they will understand.
"Forever?" Avalynn asks with her eyes starting to water

"no not forever, just until your mommy and daddy are done with the police" Wesley says reassuring them.
"are they nice?" They ask
"yes they will be, I promise you guys are going to be safe" Wesley says.

"Can I bring my toys?" Avalynn asks and Wesley chuckles and smiles "of course you can"
"yay" they both clap.

They couldn't talk about much more because Ashley came back in "are you done?" She snaps
Wesley nods "Yep." He stands up and packs his brief case.
"Good" she nods
"I'll be back later to speak to you." Wesley says standing up.
"fine." Ashley says with no emotion and turns away from Wesley

"Ashley I do need to have a word with you about something now" he says and Ashley walks outside away from the kids and Wesley follows.
"what?" She asks crossing her arms
"The kids are being placed in temporary care until this investigation is over, we don't know who they are safest with and we don't want to compromise the case." Wesley says.

"you can't just take my kids off me" Ashley snaps and Wesley smirks " I can and this order will be effective by tonight so I do suggest somehow getting them some stuff packed to take with them" he says and walks off
"Avalynn doesn't get out of hospital today"Ashley says.
"I'm going to speak to her doctor now, she seems well enough-" Wesley says and Ashley rolls her eyes and walks back into the room.

Wesley heads to find her doctor, he walks around for abit and finally finds her.
"Doctor carter" Wesley says approaching a doctor.
"How may I help?" She asks politely.
"when does avalynn Bradford get discharged?" He asks
"I'm sorry it's patient information I can't share" she apologises
"Look, I'm a lawyer- it's been reported that their father Tim Bradford had apparently been abusing them. But when we had interviewed them and him apparently it's been their mother this whole time, we are investigating into the situation meaning the kids will be put into foster care temporarily. So can I please know when she's being discharged?" Wesley begs

The doctor sighs and looks around "I'm not meant to tell you..but this situation sounds horrible- she's doing really well today so I was going to discharge her tonight and prescribe her with pain meds and give out a letter of instructions on how to treat a concussion" she explains and Wesley sighs in relief
"Thank you so much doctor! Yes tonight's good, can you also do a full body examination for both of the twins for evidence of injuries?" Wesley asks and the doctor smiles "of course I can"

"thanks honestly." Wesley shakes her hand
"I will do their examinations in an hour okay? " she says and they talk more and she leaves to see other patients.

Wesley calls cps and explains the situation, they find a loving couple to take them until the investigation is over- they will be collecting them and meeting them later on that night.

Angela was slightly late for work as she had to get Jack ready for preschool, she rushed into work and bumped into Aaron who was walking across the station.

"Woah steady" he says holding Angela still
"Sorry" she says standing back
"What's going on?" He asks curiously.
"Dont tell Lucy..but Tim's in trouble- Wesley's in San Francisco being his lawyer.."
