the ultimatum

Tim and Lucy were laying in bed, Lucy was flicking through social media on her phone and Tim was cuddled up next to Lucy trying to go to sleep, but his mind couldn't switch off..not until he told Lucy.
"we need to talk" Tim sighs sitting up against the headboard crossing his arms against his shirtless chest.

"what's up?" Lucy frowns concerned placing her phone to the side and sitting up straight to show that she's listening.
"I- look don't be mad" Tim stutters and Lucy frowns.
"What? What have you done Tim?" Lucy asks immediate concern.

"I'm seeing Ashley the day after tomorrow" Tim states now refusing to make eye contact with her.
Lucy sighs "why tim??"
Tim frowns at Lucy's very calm reaction..Tim shifts awkwardly and sighs.
"To make it official" Tim mumbles back and Lucy frowns.
"Make what official?" She asks and Tim looks up at her.
"You being the twins mom. I want you to adopt them Lucy..they have had an awful start to life and it hurts me that Ashley is their mom, she is a disgraceful person and a terrible mother. I want them to have your name on their birth certificates, and I want Ashley to hand over her rights to you." Tim replies, his eyes going glossy.

Lucy wipes a tear that falls down her face.
"Tim it doesn't have to be an official, I'm their mom adoption papers or not" Lucy replies softly and Tim shakes his head.
"So what happens if I die after Ashley is out? They won't go into your care they'll go straight to her!! I can't do that Lucy, I won't be able to do that to them, especially with the job we have." Tim admits and Lucy grabs his hands.

"I know that babe, but what if she says no?" Lucy sighs and Tim shrugs.
"well if she says no we will have to accept that but it's worth a shot" Tim replies and Lucy pulls away.
"I'm grateful you've told me Tim I am believe me, but do you really want to see her? Do you remember your reckless actions off the letter she sent you on the twins birthday? She aborted your baby, she abused you, framed you, got the twins put in foster care, she lied manipulated you and the twins, she hurt your babies Tim." Lucy replies abit more sternly and Tim zones out recalling his time with Ashley.

Lucy noticed that he was zoned out "Tim?" She taps him and he sighs and looks away trying to blink away his teary eyes.
"It's something I have to do" Tim admits.
"Fair enough Tim..it's your decision, it's your kids mom." Lucy shrugs and Tim nods.
"Are you going alone?" Lucy asks and Tim shakes his head.

"Wesley, he's coming with me. I would have asked you but it wouldn't be right, and no one will be there for the twins" Tim says and Lucy nods.
"Okay. I understand, thanks for telling me Tim" Lucy says softly and Tim nods, he is glad he did tell her, a large weight had been lifted off his shoulders.

"So you are not mad?" Tim asks and Lucy shakes her head no.
"No, I'm glad you told me Tim- if you didn't tell me obviously I'll be mad..I'm abit uncomfortable with you going but if it's something you have to do I can't stop you" she replies and Tim kisses her softly Lucy kisses him back. Tim deepens the kiss and pushes Lucy on her back and started to kiss her neck.

"As much as I would love to, your beast of child has made me tired, maybe another time" she says softly and kisses him again, Tim pulls off and gathers Lucy in his arms.
"Did you just call my child a beast?" Tim scoffs and Lucy laughs.
"there's a small bump already Tim and im not even in the second trimester,I'm a petite person having a 6ft mans child, this child is going to be a beast" Lucy scoffs and Tim places his large hand on her stomach and laughs.

"Im 6ft 1, not 6ft" Tim states and Lucy rolls her eyes
"That's not any better Tim!! You're so tall and this kid is probably going to have your height" Lucy snaps and laughs.
"Oh well, if it comes out looking as gorgeous as you are I'll be happy" Tim kisses Lucy and Lucy smiles.

"I hope it doesn't have your stubborn attitude, I don't know what I would do with another you" Lucy laughs.
"this baby will be perfect Lucy..no matter what" Tim replies.
"I know" she replies softly.
They cuddle up and go to sleep, Tim is glad he told her and Lucy reacted how she did.
