It was all hands on deck to get ready for the England v Spain final.
Well, that was in regards to the media team who were desperately trying to film and post the final behind the scenes videos from England camp, building the buzz and anticipation with unique photoshoots with certain standout players.
The internet had already taken to Kaia and Alexia's most recent photoshoot like a storm, the one they did before the Euros even began. The one of them stood at two ends of a chess board, King Kaia verses La Reina.
Of course they weren't the only two players being spoken about. But as the top two goal scorers in this competition, they were dubbed as the ones to watch.
"Ok... what's this?" Kaia mutters to herself, clicking record and examining the filter that had been put on her. "My top ten players in this competition."
It was a blind ranking from 1-10, so Kaia taps the screen and lets the filter flick through all the female players who've represented their country here.
The first name and face that appears in Patri, making Kaia smile and look towards the top of her rank, decided number three would do well for her close friend. "I'm saving my top two." She states.
Next was Jule Brand, someone who had impressed Kaia and deserved some credit for how she helped Germany reach the semifinals.
Sixth worked well for her as a middle ground.
But just as Kaia was getting into this little harmless game, the next face to pop up was Danielle Dubois.
It was instinct to click tenth the moment she saw that woman's face, raising her eyebrow disinterestedly and moving on immediately.
That woman didn't deserve an acknowledgement, although Kaia knew posting this to England's TikTok might come with comments about how dismissive she was.
Jèssica Silva was 7th, Ewa Pajor, 4th. Then popped up the smiley face of Kaia's wife, her highlighted hair down past her shoulders and curled beautifully.
Kaia laughs, not bothering to even think before she puts Mapi right at the top. "My number one, always." She reasons.
Géraldine Reuteler: 5th, Kosovara Asllani: 8th, Celin Bizet: 9th. And then suddenly, she only had her second place left over.
"I've left a really good spot for whoever's left." Kaia realises, shaking her head and wishing she had put Patri higher.
But with Kaia's luck, she taps the screen one last time and the face of Alexia appears, a leader with a soft smile and proper posture, that star above her country's badge standing out to Kaia for more reasons than one.
It was a badge sat over Mapi and Patri's also, almost like an army solider's uniform being decorated by their achievements.
But not only was it a reminder of Spain's world status, it was a reminder to Kaia of that night in Australia when Spain earned that star.
The night that broke her heart at the same time as filling it with love and pride.
Her and Mapi had put their personal life aside a lot time ago when it came to football. So all Kaia felt was that burning competitiveness in her chest that makes her smirk as she puts Alexia as her number two.
Spain's invincibility in this competition was about to come to an end.
𑁍
A harmless game of rock paper scissors meant that Kaia got to carry Fabian out for the final, always knowing her wife chose scissors because it was funny and gay.
