AN: honestly, I'm surprised at how quickly I'm writing these chapters but I'm just so motivated at the moment.
This will be the last post of this weekend though, I promise😅

"Emi, Emi, Emilia." Patri calls out, catching Emilia's hand and pulling her to a stop outside the bar. "Whatever she said to you-"
"-you don't want to get married. That's the only thing she said that matters." Emilia interrupts, truly heartbroken by the fact. "I know it's nothing to do with me, it's a you thing. But Patri, I really wanted to marry you." She sobs.
Patri's mouth opens slowly, but she couldn't deny that marriage wasn't exactly something she wanted. "I just... I didn't realise marriage meant so much to you." She admits sadly. "I thought we were good as we were."
"Of course it means a lot to me." Emilia wipes her eyes frustratedly and sniffles. "We're in a serious adult relationship, marriage is the end goal, it shows our commitment to each other forever."
"Does us not being together show you how committed we are?" Patri asks in confusion.
Emilia laughs, but it was sad and bitter as she turns to walk away again. "Girlfriend is just a flimsy title we give each other." She brushes off.
"Emilia." Patri sighs in exasperation, following her girlfriend down the boardwalk.
"Marriage is law binging, that's proper commitment, something we can build a life together on." Emilia carries on impatiently.
Patri huffs and grabs Emilia's hand again, letting go the second she feels Emilia turn back to her. "So I'm not committed to you because I don't want to get married?" She tries to understand. "We're just flimsy?"
"Do you want to marry me?" Emilia challenges.
Patri blinks, hating the tension between them and the sudden pressure she feels. "Emi, I love you and us but I didn't think-"
"-you didn't think this would become serious enough for marriage." Emilia finishes bitterly.
"I don't like marriage in general!" Patri exclaims impatiently. "You just said you understand that it's a me thing, nothing to do with you or us."
"Patri." Emilia shakes her head defiantly. "I can't do this anymore, not if I can't see a future with you."
Patri takes Emilia's hands into hers, her bottom lip trembling as she tries to speak. "We do have a future. Please..."
Emilia smiles sadly, breaking both of their hearts in one go. "I want to get married, I want to wear a beautiful wedding dress and walk down the aisle to promise someone forever."
"Someone." Patri repeats shakily.
"I respect that you don't want to get married, but I do. It's my dream." Emilia says quietly, lifting Patri's hands up to place a kiss on her knuckles. "I love you so much."
"Please don't do this." Patri begs.
Emilia lets out a shaky sigh, preparing herself to cut the rope. "I can't be with someone who doesn't want to marry me, I need to be selfish because it breaks my heart knowing we're never... going to get there."

No one knew exactly what happened between Patri and Emilia last night, the only thing that was prominent was the palpable tension in the villa.
But Kaia still packed Fabian's suitcase while keeping an eye on both of her friends as they passed on the hallway, not wanting to ask because it was none of her business.
