Fabian had been changed into his swimming shorts two hours after he had eaten his lunch and blew the candles out on his lion birthday cake.
Now, he was stood on the pool edge doing little stutters with his feet, floaties on his arms and his tongue stuck out just a little as he gauged the distance from where he stood to his mamá's waiting hands.
"Go on, Fabian." Bosco cheers him on from the other side of the pool, sat with his legs in the water and fully tattooed torso on show. "Jump. You are Italian, my man. You need to learn to swim."
"Leave him alone." Gia gives a soft clip to her brother's head as she passes.
"Take your time, chiquito." Mapi soothe softly, wiggling her fingers. "I'll catch you, I promise."
So Fabian jumps, his face held in a grimace until he makes it half a foot and splashes into the water right in front of Mapi, with her hands securely under his arms.
Some people cheer him, others tell Mapi to make him jump from further, but Kaia was silently filming her wife and son in the pool from her sun lounger.
"You are so in love." Gia teases from the lounger at her side, both her and Kaia in bikinis skimpy enough to get a proper tan.
"I am." Kaia agrees as she puts her phone down, not bothering to watch the video because she'd much prefer watching the real thing. "Seeing them has my ovaries fluttering."
"Mm." Gia hums in what sounds like understanding, her eyes drifting over to where Jenni was talking to Alexia by the food. "I often wonder if I should give Aurelio a sibling."
Kaia's head snaps to her cousin, a massive smile on her face. "Oh my god. Wait five years and then we can be pregnant together."
"How many are you having? An entire army?" Gia teases.
"Four or five." Kaia shrugs like the number is acceptable. "But with the twins, we're going to wait a little before our fourth. So they're not too close in age and I can carry after the World Cup and everything."
Gia smirks, lowering her sunglasses as her eyes go to the blonde in the pool. "You know Mapi's going to go loopy over you when you're pregnant."
"I've said this before," Kaia begins to chuckle, lowering her voice. "But if she could get me pregnant... oh, my, god."
"Yeah, that doesn't surprise me." Gia laughs. "Women are just so much more intimate. I don't know why I ever went back to men."
"Men are great." Bosco defends from behind them, holding a glass of Pepsi with a cocktail umbrella unnecessarily in it. "I mean, I am great." He corrects when Gia and Kaia both look at him in amusement. "I've never been with a man..."
"Why not?" Gia wonders, purely to tease her older and very manly brother. "You should try it."
Bosco rolls his eyes, being secure enough in his masculinity to not be offended. "You just said women were more intimate, which I agree with."
Gia sits up, turning to her brother. "Intimate with other women. Like they know how to caress my breasts."
"My god." Kaia laughs into her drink.
"I know how to caress a woman's breasts." Bosco huffs as he falls onto the bottom of Kaia's lounger, facing off with his sister. "Soft, like you are kneading, right?" He gaze snaps towards Kaia.
"Sure." Kaia chuckles, amazed that this is a conversation happening at her son's first birthday party. "But make sure you don't just squeeze randomly. Feel the shape, move from one to the other, play with the nipples."
