330. A Kiss Behind The Ear

AN: the timeline is a little mixed up here, but as requested I wanted to include their little trip to the Teotihuacán pyramids.

Two days ago

Teotihuacán was rich in culture and was classed as a pre-Hispanic city, named 'The City of the Gods' by the Aztecs who didn't actually build it.

It sounded impressive, and it was impressive for a civilisation that built it over 1900 years ago, but for the likes of Vicky, Cata and Pina who had the attention span of a teaspoon, they just saw crumpling rocks on top of each other.

"Oh wow." Clara marvels over the sun pyramid sat at the very end, the heat waves casting a blur over it on the horizon.

She looked like Dora the Explorer with her backpack, but Patri was using it as somewhere to store water for them all and shade their phones from the sun and pickpockets.

Kaia had Fabian in her arms because Mapi also had a backpack over one of her shoulders, this one full of a dozen nappies, spare clothes and suncream all for Fabian.

Fabian didn't really understand what they were all looking at, but he quietly drank his water and looked between the closest pyramid and Clara who kept pointing things out and referring to her paper guide.

"Do you reckon there's a curse here?" Vicky asks the group. "Like... if we go in a pyramid, a mummy might wake up and hunt us down for disturbing their sleep?"

"You watch too many horror movies." Alexia accuses, squeezing suncream on her forearms.

Mapi crouches down, touching the dirt like she had some sixth sense to this stuff. "They did human sacrifices here, so I think there probably were curses here ages ago." She theorises genuinely. "But so many people pass through here, I doubt it'll affect us."

"Gorgeous," Kaia warns down to her wife. "He's listening."

Mapi looks up and sees Fabian's big curious eyes on her, so she stands back upright and gives his leg a little squeeze. "Do you want some suncream on?"

Fabian's eyes move straight to Kaia's face. "Mami." He requests.

"I know." Mapi rolls her eyes fondly, taking Fabian so Kaia had her hands free to coat him in factor fifty. 

"Does he not let you do it Mapi?" Clara asks with a mildly amused smile.

Mapi shakes her head, keeping Fabian facing Kaia so she could rub the suncream over his arms and legs. "Not when Kaia is an option."

"That's cute." Clara compliments, all of them happily waiting for Fabian to be fully protected before they venture further in.

It was amusing how shamelessly Kaia spread suncream over Fabian's face, going left to right and coating every inch of his skin including close to his eyes and around onto the back of his neck.

Fabian was bewildered when his ears were pulled between Kaia's fingers, but he stayed still and giggled when Kaia finished off with a little poke on his nose.

"Let's go find curses!" Lucy suggests loudly, sounding and looking like a proper British tourist.

It made Pina hesitate to follow. "People are going to think we're with her."
