A week before the autumn international break, the sun was still warm and Kaia wasn't really looking forward to English weather.

But that was the only thing she wasn't looking forward to at the minute.

Grace was in her last two weeks of pregnancy, two more weeks until her appointment, two more weeks until she gave birth to the twins.

Mapi was literally jittering with anticipation. She couldn't sit still at home, constantly walking into Fabian's new big boy bedroom and examining her Cars mural to look for any mistakes or details she could add, wondering if she should make Lightning McQueen's smirk a little more devilish or add another fan poster in the background.

There were already little nods to Fabian in the crowd, to Matteo's championship win in 1999, the colours engaging but not overwhelming for a bedroom except the race car red Lighting McQueen stood centre stage.

Fabian had wandered in while Mapi was still painting it, muttered an awed 'woah' as he stared up at the wall and mindlessly held out the Babybel he had brought for her.

He loved it, especially when Kaia brought a black and white checkered rug in and laid it at the side of his new floor bed, tucking it under so his bare feet had fluff to stand on as he got out of bed instead of the hardwood floor.

His bedroom was at the front of the house, so they put his bed away from the main windows so he didn't feel the need to climb up onto the windowsill and watch the odd car pass on the other side of the privacy wall, bushes and drive between him and the road.

He hadn't actually slept in the room yet because he was still very much attached to his cot and the nursery, not needing to move for quite a few more months anyway.

Fabian's old bedside cot sat in the corner of Mapi and Kaia's bedroom waiting, a constant reminder to them of how close they were but also how prepared they were.

As the hours and day passed, Kaia came to the dauntingly exciting conclusion that she would be returning home from international duty with the twins, she only had two more nights in this bed until they were born and then laying in the cot at her side.

The last training session came the day before their last league to Granada at home, the game and positive mood having everyone smiling as they went in for the day.

Clara now had Sydney on her other side curiously asking her about her crush, someone she hadn't seen since Madrid and would likely never see again.

"How cute is cute?" Sydney asks with a little cheeky smile. "Like, heart stopping cute or... he looks like he'd buy you flowers."

Alexia glances back from right in front of them, clearly listening and finding great amusement in this topic still being discussed.

"The first." Clara still answers, needing to get this gushing off her chest to people her own age, people who were just as excited and eager for a love story. "Like I'm sure I'd faint if he spoke to me."

Mapi snorts a laugh as she jogs past them with her water bottle, finding straight people very amusing.

Vicky shakes her head, pleased of herself for making this team wide knowledge. "I still can't believe you didn't get his number."
