"Yichen?" Mochou asked in a soft barely audible voice."Sorry, did I wake you?" Yichen asked with regret.
When he had returned from his sister's room he found Mochou laying in bed asleep. He attempted taking away the babies to feed them in the kitchen so as not to disturb Mochou. Unfortunately he failed and Mochou had woken up.
"It's fine. Our Goji Berries must be getting hungry. Can you pass my Little Goji Berry." Mochou said as he moved to sit up.
"It's fine. I can feed them both. Go back to sleep."
"I'm already up. And it will go quicker if we both help."
Mochou insisted on helping so Yichen lifted their littlest one and placed him in Mochou's arms. He then made himself comfortable by Mochou's side and fed their biggest one.
"Did you have a nice time talking with your sister?" Mochou asked. He needed to talk otherwise he was certain to fall asleep again.
"I did. We talked about your woodcarving. She was very impressed with the ring you made me." Yichen bragged.
"Is that so. If she likes them you can let her take anything she wants from the hairpins and other little knick-knacks I've made. I think there was a butterfly hairpin that might suit her." Mochou said with a light yawn.
"I gave it to her. She says it's beautiful."
"That's good. Are you going back to talk some more after the babies are fed? It's still early."
"No, after traveling all day Yijie seemed a bit tired. She also barely had a minute to herself all day so I decided to call it an early night." Yichen said.
"Are you sure? You haven't seen her in years and after tonight..."
"She'll be in the village for three more days. I told her she could stay here with us if she wanted. And we've also talked about her coming to visit in the late spring after the rainy season to visit with her husband." Yichen explained.
"Will your mom be okay with her staying with us?"
"Okay or not it doesn't matter. She and I have always been close and my mom knows it." Yichen said.
"If that's what you want I don't mind. Yijie is really nice and fun to talk to." Mochou said.
"Thank you." Yichen whispered as he gently kissed Mochou's head. He was really happy knowing Mochou liked his sister. Especially considering how Mochou felt around the rest of his family.
"Maybe I can convince my sister to move back to the village? That way I'll have my favourite Lil Sis close by and Mochou can have someone he can talk with." Yichen quietly mused.
...
The next morning Mochou and Yichen woke up first. While Yichen took care of the babies, Mochou started making breakfast. He decided to be a bit more extravagant. In addition to the usual porridge and buns. He took out his jams, made some omelettes, and a light soup.
"Morning." Yijie said with a yawn.
"Did you not sleep well?" Mochou asked.
"No, I slept fine. Did Big Bro come it at some point to add coal to the heater? It was still hot when I woke up." Yijie asked.
"He did. Did you not want him going in while you were sleeping? I would have gone myself but..."
"No, it's fine. I don't really care about those rules. I mean who cares if my brother goes in the room or if I want to talk to a man. Honestly it's hard remembering them all. " Yijie said.
