After making intense love until the sun went down and they were both completely drained. Mochou and Yichen went into the bathroom to shower. Seeing how easy it was to shower despite it being the apocalypse and not getting much water pressure or hot water Yichen was still impressed.
"Do you know how to make these?" Yichen asked him as he helped to lather Mochou's back with some lemon scented soap.
"I understand the mechanics of how it works but I don't know how to replicated it with our skills and what's available." Mochou sadly admitted as he glanced at the toilet with bidet functions.
"Maybe if we work together we'll figure something out later." Yichen said a little disappointed but in an understanding tone.
...
After their shower they returned to the freshly changed bed. Mochou happily cuddled into Yichen's embrace and rested his head on his chest. He was much larger now but in this position as he listened to Yichen's strong heartbeat he felt like nothing had changed.
Sniffle*
The sound of crying could suddenly be heard. Yichen had tried to hold it back. He didn't want to ruin the moment. However his emotion overwhelmed him and he found himself crying as he held Mochou tightly in his arms.
"What's wrong?" Mochou asked as he lifted himself off his chest and looked at his crying husband.
"Waking up in this strange place I'm so happy to have found you. Without you... there is no without you I couldn't bare it."
"I know what you mean. When I woke up in this familiar bed and thought our life together was a dream it felt like my heart had been torn out of my chest and ripped apart." Mochou admitted.
"Being together makes this world bearable and I'm willing to make a life here together with you, but... We have to go home. There must be some way, right?" Yichen asked as he drew little nervous circles on Mochou's bare back.
"I also want to go back. But... I don't know how. When I transmigrated the first time it was because I was killed. This time... I don't know if we died after falling into that precipice but if we did and that's the reason we're here now..."
"Do you think dying is the only way we can go back home?" Yichen asked.
"It might be... or it might not. The only way to find out would be to try it. But if we're wrong and death truly means death this time..."
Yichen pulled Mochou into a tight embrace at the thought of Mochou dying. Even though they would be doing it together he hated the thought.
"I don't want my sweet bae to suffer any more than he already has. I don't want to but what if it's the only way we can return?" Yichen thought as he kissed Mochou's freshly washed hair.
Mochou could tell Yichen was struggling. He understood why. It was because of their Goji Berries. Thinking of them he also felt empty inside.
"The Goji Berries are with Yijie. They love her and you're family will help. It's painful but it's comforting to know that they are safe and with people who love them." Mochou said but he sounded unconvincing because his voice trembled as he spoke.
"I know but I don't want to believe we'll never see them again. They're our Goji Berries." Yichen said.
"What do you want to do? Do you..." Mochou couldn't bring himself to suggest they die to return home.
"Let's not rush into anything." Yichen said.
Saddened by the situation and exhausted they lay together and quietly fell asleep.
